My set of Warriors books by Erin Hunter came in this morning. #1-6, the complete first set. I'll see how I like them and then get into more of them later on if I do. I keep hearing about this series from various people but it's one I somehow missed out on growing up, but I figure you can start at any age, right? I also want to read the Silverwing series by Kenneth Oppal (I think that's the name), though those ones are very thin books. The Warriors ones will at least take me a day or two to read each one. *shrug*

I cooked dinner last night from a recipe from the Deadpool cookbook, and while Mom and Lee liked it okay I wasn't really a fan of it. And it wasn't even the honey that was in it, I couldn't even taste that for once! I dunno, something about it was just... meh. So Mom picked the zucchini out of it since that was the only part she and Lee didn't like and they said they'll eat it again. The thing with me is that I don't eat very many things as leftovers, as a general rule, so I just... I guess I'm picky. I dunno.

Yesterday the scabs came off my mangled finger. It still hurts, but it's good to know that it's holding together. There's a lot of scar tissue and still some numb spots but I'll survive. Sometimes it hurts to type, though, especially in the mornings, which is kind of a pain in the butt since that's when I do most of my writing.

Last night the HUGE parcel I sent to Sethi arrived and she videotaped her kids opening it and it was a minute-and-a-half of fabulous. They were SO excited. Seriously though, every time I send a parcel with pinback buttons in it Customs takes them out of their little baggie and they end up spread all across the box. It's annoying. I don't know why I bother. But that aside, I'm looking forward to reviews on everything as it gets played with/eaten/etc. The toys and stickers are already a hit. (I sent SO MANY STICKERS OMG.)

Last night I finished Halcyon Days (#29 in the post-SS one-shot series) and it turned out to be 37 pages and 17737 words long, before editing. It might end up a little shorter or longer, after editing. I think it's the longest of the post-SS one-shots so far, which is nice because it's the "last" one (before Serendipity which almost doesn't count) and an important one. It was fun to write, and sad sometimes, but in general I enjoyed it. Dean and Cas got to have a nice hotel in Halcyon Days, instead of the usual ratty motel, haha. Good times.

The filter in the axolotl tank is still acting up, GLUGing and spitting water everywhere when it does, but now that my finger is semi-functional and watertight again, I can stick my hand into the tank to try to deal with it. I'll have to do it tomorrow though, because Extended Family Christmas is today so I'm busy with travelling and Christmas-ing and that kind of stuff.

There's a chance that Grandma won't be able to make it today and I feel like a horrible person for saying it, but I'm hoping that turns out to be the case. Aside from being forgetful and stuff, she's become mean and accusatory and obstinate, and I just don't think I can handle being around her the way she is now. She's not my Grandma anymore and it tears me up inside.

I'm going to wear my "ew, people" Grinch hoodie today, the one that Amy and Brit got me for Christmas last year. I checked the other day and it still fits, just a little tighter around my belly because of all the NAFLD weight gain.

Update on Extended Family Christmas later.

A week from now is Christmas with me, Mom, Lee and my little brother, so I really need to get the Wiggly Foxes that I'm making for him finished like... in the next couple of days, so the paint has a chance to really set and I can spray seal them before I wrap them up for him. I have one 98% complete, and the other three are like 75% there, I just have to get off my duff and freaking DO IT.

I'm still waiting for some stuff to come in the mail which sucks because we're getting together with Amy, Brit, Sarah, etc. on the 22nd and it's like... what am I going to do if they don't arrive before then? I guess placeholder boxes of chocolates until their actual gifts arrive. I'm a little annoyed, though. I dunno, it's a pain.

Right. Well. After I reached 50k on TKA I was SUPPOSED to take like a one or two day break and then get back at it, but it is day ELEVEN now and I JUST started writing TKA again now. *FACEPALM* After the first couple of days of my brain being MUSH I DID get back to writing, just... not TKA. I worked on SPN fanfic stuff instead, which, like, PRIORITIES?? BUT today's TKA session went well, it was about 2.5k long (ish) and I think I might finally be back at it! I just really want to get TKA finished so I can move on to the editing part.

I've been working on Temper Tantrums in the post-SS one-shots, and also Hunting Souls, and also Wayward Daughters, which is a new one that I just added to the roster. It's up to 30 freaking fics now and I'm hoping to keep it there because that is out of control. :|

I've been working on Wiggly Foxes a lot lately, especially the family of them that I'm making for my brother for Christmas. They're blue with pink tails and white accents. I'm also making a set of bracelets for him for Christmas but I need the bails and charms and I ordered them today, and the bails will be here tomorrow, but the charms won't be here until December 9->19 so that SUCKS. I can make the bracelets and then attach the charms after, but I'm super worried about the postal strike right now so??? The stupid thing is I KNOW I have some suitable charms around here, I just can't FREAKING FIND THEM. >:[

Today I have to make banana bread because I've been saying I'm going to make it for like a week now. Also bread pudding. But first I'm taking a nap because I woke up at 4am this morning and couldn't get back to sleep because NATURALLY. *eyeroll*

I'm hoping to FedEX Sethi's parcel to her and her family FINALLY this weekend. And also send Cassandra-san her little package, too. Turns out FedEX is actually pretty affordable if you don't mind it taking three whole days to get there. To the States, anyway, I'm not sure about the Philippines, I still have to get an estimate for that one.

Anyway, yeah. Not much to talk about today. More to talk about tomorrow when my Amazon parcel comes in. Cya.

Yesterday was Thursday and it was the first Thursday in 16 weeks that I haven't posted something Horror High related when I first got up in the morning and it was... weird. :| I'm looking forward to December 5th and posting the first chapter of Storm Season, and so on for the next... uh. 19 weeks? Yeaaaaaah I've gone overboard with the post-SS one-shots.

A little while ago I added Hunting Souls to the roster and last night I added a new one called Day Drinking that has Kevin in it. I'm still working out the details on Day Drinking but I have lots of time for that. And then of course I reinstated Stalagmites because I'm a sucker for a fluffy ending after a HUGE long series. Though, again, if I post Stalagmites it puts a definitive end to the series so I can't go back and write more later. That's not necessarily a bad thing, though. All good things must come to an end and all that, right?

I have a new original project called Freefall that's my excuse to write a wingfic but as an original novel. (Also it's a poorly disguised Geraskier story.) I think it might be the next thing I work on after TKA. That or Sins Of Angels, I haven't entirely decided. I need to focus on the NaNo and TKA first before I decide on anything else.

Anyway, my copy of Supernatural: Joyride came in yesterday (now I just need Children Of Anubis and I'll have the complete set!) and so did my citrine, moonstone and tiger eye chip beads. I should start making the Wiccan bracelets at some point soon, since I have most of my currently-ordered gemstones. I can't order any more until next week when my check comes in from ODSP, and then only one or two because Christmas is coming and I need to save my money for that... and possibly for getting another 'lotl.

Still no response from Poe re: addresses and such. I understand they're not checking her email much because their Dad's not doing so well but I don't understand the correlation?? What does your email have to do with your Dad? Why can't you check it once in a while? I just don't get it. But all I can do is wait until they finally get around to checking their email again and hopefully get back to me.

Sethi asked me if I could read over/edit a short novel that her husband wrote. Apparently it's the first thing he's ever written. Anyway, I said I would but no guarantees on a timeline because the NaNo is coming up fast and she said no rush. I did open it briefly, only to discover, to my dismay, that it's written in SCRIPT FORMAT. And I kind of want to message her and just be like "THIS ISN'T A NOVEL" but that would be mean, so I'll read it over and edit it anyway, even though I disapprove of the format.

I haven't seen Kaida in a couple of days but that's not uncommon so I'm not worried. Eventually I'll see her cute lil face again, she's just shy most of the time. I'm looking forward to when she gets bigger and it's harder for her to hide from me haha. Next time I catch her out I'm going to try to sex her and figure out if she's ACTUALLY a girl or maybe a boy instead. I don't care either way, but I need to know for getting her a tankmate. I don't want 10,000,000 babies, after all. :P
senashenta: (Halloween Kaoru)
Uuuugh still trying to get my phone bill payed off from vacation this summer. ~_~;; I should have it completely dealt with next month though, at least. Maybe later this month if I can get some jewelry sold on ebay or something. We'll see.

My back room is currently home to three guitars (one of them was made in Germany in 1930! :O!) because M from downstairs finally managed to get them back out of hock and then he was going out this evening but K and R were still home and had shifty friends over. The kind of people who would have stolen the guitars and sold them for drug money. =/ So M asked if they could spend the night up here with me, and I said no problem. I have plenty of room for them now, haha. I kind of want to take the 1930's one out of its case and have a look but at the same time I'm afraid I'll drop it or something. >__>;;

I wrote a letter to one of my rl friends a couple days back. I don't know how else to contact her and I felt like getting ahold of her; while I was reorganizing I found a bunch of old notes she wrote me back in high school and they made me giggle, and I realized it had been like three years since I saw her last. Hopefully she'll call or email or something. I miss her terribly. ♥

Anyway, Imma mail it tomorrow when I go downtown. I have to get some frozen rats for Aya (I only have one left) and some crickets for Sally and Tula (my pet wolf spiders! 8D;;) so I'll pop by the post office too. Yep.

Oh, and today I picked up a bunch of odds and ends for P.O.S.es for etc-kitty, Cat McD and Sethi. Hehe, I love putting together random packages! Though this time 'round I may possibly be including too many goodies. Doing P.O.S. exchange around Halloween might not be such a good idea. Candy and chocolate are way too easy to overdo this time of year. XD;

It's now officially October, so I can use my Halloween Kaoru icon! :D

EDIT: Just looked up some pics and Sally and Tula appear to be some kind of orb-weaver spiders (possibly cat-faced spiders), not wolf spiders. I thought they looked a little too round. But we always have wolf spiders and these girls are gigantic, so I made an assumption and it turned out to be wrong. Whatever. Apparently I have a nest of orb-weaver spiders around though, because there are webs with them outside every window of my apartment. xD; They help keep the fly population down though, and they don't hurt anything (and are completely harmless to people/pets) so I don't mind so much. ♥
senashenta: (Procrastinators Unite)
Ugh, I feel like such a zombie lately. My brain just isn't working right. It rather sucks actually. But anyway, I've procrastinated over updating my journal for long enough, I figure I should maybe actually, yanno, do it. Numbers to help me keep my thoughts organized, though everything's not really in any particular order. ♥

1) The cats have fleas. UGH. I have literally never had a flea outbreak in my house (despite the number of critters) and I'm seriously not pleased with it. In fact, it fucking sucks. The only saving grace is that they haven't gotten to the rabbits. Yet. I've tried practically everything to get rid of them, too; I flea bathed them all, gave them over-the-counter flea drops, gave them Vet prescription flea drops (which cost a fortune, btw), and then tried a flea spray (I treated the entire apartment as well.) Finally, in a last-ditch effort it was recommended that I shave them all down and do the flea spray again when they were nekkid, as there was a possibility that the spray wasn't getting all the way through their fur.

So! I went out and purchased an electric shaver (technically marketed for dogs, but whatever) for freaking $50 +tax. I figure at least I can use it on them every year in the spring to lessen the shedding epidemic when it starts getting warm. I can also use it on Pagan, since he's my only long-haired bun and tends to get mats on his underside at random intervals for no apparent reason and no matter how often I brush/groom him. Anyway.

I know my cats, and I knew that Loki was going to be the hardest one to do since he's such a nervous kitty. I decided to do him first to get him out of the way, and also because I figured that if I did him later he would find somewhere to hide as soon as he knew what was happening. What I didn't figure on was my lovely, cuddly, affectionate Loki-boy going ABSOLUTELY FUCKING POSTAL. .__.;

Mom and my brother were helping to hold him, and as soon as I turned the clippers on he WENT INTO A TERROR-INDUCED HOMICIDAL FREAK OUT. I knew he was going to be nervous and a little scared just like he is with anything new, but WHAT. THE. FUCK. It was like trying to hold down a MOUNTAIN LION, right down to the insane amount of personal injury; Mom got bitten a half dozen times on her hands, my brother got seriously MAULED from the elbow down on BOTH arms, and my left leg was mauled and he bit right through the nail on my right hand, completely severing it. Then this past Monday I went to the doctor's and Dr. K had a look and is pretty sure not only did he fuck my nail up but the crushing injury was so severe that he managed to actually break the tip of my finger bone off. So of course, my hand is taking IONS to heal and still hurts like a fucking bitch nearly two weeks later. ~__~;; Sooo...

All three of us trouped to the hospital when it happened and got antibiotics and Mom and my bro got tetanus shots since theirs weren't up to date. Fun times with the family, huh? So that was the adventure with trying to shave Loki, who is still not shaved and who will never be, short of drugging him into a coma beforehand. Haha. Neko, Juna and Tri are all 3/4 naked now, though, and with them the worst that happened was that Tri puffed his tail at me while I was doing it. Now I just need Mom to help me treat them with the spray again. Cross your fingers for me that it, you know, works this time. Because if it doesn't I'm out of options short of building little cabins and inviting the fleas to move in for life.

IF ANYONE HAS ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR THINGS I HAVEN'T TRIED YET, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

Haha, and then the hospital reported the "attack" (by law they have to) so the Health Unit called to talk with me and put Loki on quarantine for ten days just in case. This of course made me lol because whatever, he's a house cat anyway. XD He's officially off quarantine now though.

Loki and I have since made up, of course. :)

Moving on!

2) Today I got some catnip for the pride and sprinkled it down on the carpet in the living room. This is something I do on a regular basis, but it was particularly amusing this time because it's the first time Tia has been exposed to it. OMFG she was hilarious! I giggled at her for like half an hour while she zoomed around and rolled in it and licked the carpet and was generally all =OwO= It was really adorable. ♥

3) Aya finally shed! I'd had him for two months and nothing, even though the pet store peeps said all the rest of the ball pythons from his clutch did the week I got him. When I got home from the US he still hadn't shed and I was starting to get a little concerned. But then last week his pattern started to fade and his eyes clouded over. YAY. A few days later I peeked in the terrarium and the old skin was balled up in the corner by his hidey rock. ^^ I was hoping it would be straight so I could take a pic, but oh well. And he had been really lethargic since two weeks before I left for my vacation, but now he's all energetic again. Or at least as energetic as a snake can be. ^_~

4) Due to massive injuries and seriously excessive pain, I've spent the last two weeks unable to do pretty much any cleaning around here aside from sweeping a bit. I normally sweep/vacuum/mop/dust every couple of days, and not being able to do it was driving me nuts; the floor and carpets were a disaster, dishes (which I also do every couple of days) were piling up... last week I couldn't even clean out the rabbit/rat cages, which I HATED because it meant my poor babies had icky living conditions for a whole week.

Luckily, the last couple of days the pain has subsided a bit; not much, but enough that I could vacuum the place and do a few dishes (not all of them because my finger started throbbing again halfway through) and tonight I managed to finagal my way through cleaning all the cages out. YAYZ! Now I don't feel guilty and like a terrible Mom anymore. Whew.

Also got my bathroom tidied and reorganized, which it's needed for ages.

5) Today I took a wander downtown. It was nice out, just a little cool so I got to wear my (faux) leather jacket, which fits me again whoo! I went to the dollar store for a gift bag for a Christmas gift that I've already got 90% finished and a new shower curtain (I have to replace it every couple months because the cats like to play with them and trash them in the process), then went to Salon Salon and got my eyebrows waxed because they really really needed it. I also picked up the bulk order of eyepins I ordered from Magpie Beads like two months ago.

Speaking of which... MAGPIE BEADS IS CLOSING!! DDD8 They're moving to Barrie! They're the only bead store in town and they're leaving meeeeee! *WEEPS*

Right. So after that I had to go across town to pick up some prescriptions, and while I was around there I went into the Dollarama; got some odds and ends, mostly for other people lol. Then I went to Blockbuster to look at previously viewed movies... and they were having a huge sale on them. I got eleven movies for just over forty bucks! ASDGH! I may have had a little mental flail. XD

I picked up Terminator: Salvation, Battle for Terra, Drag Me to Hell, Zombieland, The Rundown (my Rock movie collection is ever expanding! X3), The Patriot, The Alphabet Killer, Swarmed, The Black Hole, Dragonball Evolution (out of morbid curiosity; and it only cost me $3) and Ghost Machine, which I'm watching right now. ♥

And the sale is on until Oct 3rd, so Imma go back for a few more when I get my money at the end of the month. I'm gonna try to sell some stuff in the meantime to make up for it. Hehehehe new movies make me happy. :3

6) Other than picking up some DVDs, I've seem some newer movies lately too. I'm partway through Predators, which is turning out to be fun. I won't have a concrete opinion on it until I've watched it all though. Wish I could find a better copy online... maybe I'll just wait until it comes out on DVD and pick it up to finish watching it.

Piranha 3D; I didn't watch it in 3D, obviously, but... OMFG. It was AWESOME. >3!! Prehistoric piranha + spring break = fucking fun times! I was a little surprised how gory it was, actually. Not that it bothered me since I'm already so desensitized to cinema violence, but about halfway through it just suddenly struck me that there was A LOT of gore. Go figure.

Resident Evil: Afterlife; EEEEE NEW RESIDENT EVIL MOVIE!!

The Last Exorcism; This one started out really slowly, and I almost gave up on it. It did get really interesting about halfway through, though, and was quite good from then on. The only thing I disliked was that it was filmed like a documentary (like The Blair Witch Project or Cloverfield), and I'm not overly fond of that way of filming. But it was good for what it was.

I just saw a preview for this movie, too, and it looks amazing and creepy and I really want to see it:

7) I have packages for the following peeps, which I swear I'll be mailing out soon. No really. Steph & Reppy, Lome, Kiin-bb, Maddie & Chloe and Mari. ♥

[livejournal.com profile] kierseth, [livejournal.com profile] etcetera_cat and [livejournal.com profile] cat_mcdougall. HEY YOU GUYS. We haven't done a proper P.O.S. exchange in forever! Want to organize one again? ^_^

8) Dad is coming up later this week to stop in for a visit. He's picking up his and Lois' souvenirs and the movies I borrowed from him last time I was down back in May. He's also bringing me a bunch more b-grade movies to replace them, which makes me happy because, I mean, B-GRADE MOVIES WUT. xD

I'm thinking about asking if I can go back with him to visit for a couple of days. I told him I'd help him go through the rest of Aunt Cheryl's stuff in the barn, and I want to get that done before it gets too cold out. Plus I'd just like to visit with him and Lois and the dogs a bit. I don't get to do that often enough. =/

9) I had an appointment in Toronto with the dietitian a couple weeks back. I have to go every 3-4 months for a checkup and bloodwork. I'm told my weight loss is going very well and I'm perfectly on track for where I should be (I've lost 80lbs since Feb 26th), so probably by February I'll be down to about my target weight of 130-140lbs. The only thing is that they're concerned I'm not getting enough protein in my diet, so I'm supposed to try having more in the way of cheese/eggs/etc. *shrug*

Anyhoo, the dietitian called today and left a message regarding the results of my bloodwork; my iron is low, so she wants me to go on iron supplements daily (I normally only take them when I'm on my period) and my vitamin C was really low which makes no sense considering the amount of vitamin C rich fruits and drinks I eat but she wants me to take vitamin C pills too. She also noted that my white blood cell count was high, but at the time they took the blood I was just getting over a bad cold so that doesn't surprise me.

10) Yesterday I took my camera and did a video tour of my apartment to post on FB for people, since I apparently fail at posting pics despite peeps on my f-list there and here asking for them. >>; But then I got carried away and it ended up way too long, so when I tried to upload it it didn't work. *facepalm* Guess I'm doing another one tomorrow. A shorter one. lol.

11) Been rewatching House on DVD; the first five seasons. I just finished yesterday. The season 4 finale made me bawl like a baby. AGAIN. ~_~;

12) Back when I was down in Dayton I was supposed to paint with Chloe, but somehow we just never got around to it. But when I got back home I still kind of had the itch to do it, so I picked up a couple of medium-sized canvasses. My first painting is maybe a third done now. Haha, I haven't painted in forever, and this is my very first painting actually on canvas! I'm really enjoying it (even though my injured hand is making things difficult) and I plan to do a few more.

Funnily enough, the first painting started off as kind of an abstract idea but has given birth to a new character/species. He doesn't have a name yet, but I think he might fit into the same world as Terra/Ilo/Celine/Aysel. I really like his design, so I plan to do more sketches of him, and maybe another larger and more detailed painting.

I'm considering doing painting for people for Christmas this year, too. Would anyone like a Sena!painting? 83

13) Mom and Lee are on vacation right now. They're coming back tomorrow; they just spent a few days off in an out of the way cabin-type place where they could both relax and everything. They really needed it, they've both been totally fried out between one thing and another. Hopefully a few days away will have helped.

In any case, I called yesterday to invite my brother over here for dinner but he had friends over. So instead we decided that I'm going over there tomorrow to visit and make supper for him and Mom and Lee when they get home. ♥

14) I NEED MONIES. $__$ Does anyone out there want a pony or jewelry commission or something? :3
senashenta: (I Won't Be Broken Again)
Ugh, the Apo-Divalproex is really kicking my ass since Dr K upped my dosage. But then on top of that I haven't been feeling super great anyway. I'm really depressed still. >.<; Bad enough that Mom's noticed and asked me about it today. Normally no one can tell when I'm like this because I fake being fine. =_=; IDK, I've just been going downhill the last couple of months for no apparent reason.

Anyway, today my box of snacks from j-list came in. I ordered them a couple weeks ago. Wildberry pocky, different flavours of mochi candy, custard hi-chews and lotte lime-yuzu gum for Mom. The mochi candy is gone already. It was so yummy. :3 The grape was the best~! I might order some more in a couple weeks.

Oh, and my brother's PC completely died yesterday, so he spent all yesterday in a major snit. Now he's alright again, but he borrowed my PS2 to play Kingdom Hearts and FFXII, since he can't pass the time playing City of Heroes on the computer. I think he's probably planning to use his tax money to pay to have his PC fixed when it comes in.

Also, thank you Sethi and Kazzie~! I got PSP working again though, so it's all good. XD;; I was doing a poster for Esprit Studios to get printed off for my booth at AN, so with that done I'm good. I just have to actually get the posters printed. (Two so I can keep one in case the one at AN gets ripped up or whatever.)
senashenta: (Chapter 53 Twins)
Back from Mom's place again. Spent the last four days doing not much else besides gaming with my brother. Heh. We took turns playing FFXII, and coaching each other. lol. His game is about 24 hours in, and mine is only about 15. He borrowed my PS2 to play some more, and I stole his N64 and Zelda games. XD; I'll let him finish his quest and then get my PS2 back from him. It shouldn't take him too too long, he can whip through video games insanely fast. Though [livejournal.com profile] kierseth tells me FFXII has something like 300 hours of gameplay so maybe it'll actually be a bit of a challenge to him for once? ^_^;

For Christmas I want a DS, and Tales of the Abyss. ;3; And a cell phone omg.

Anyway! Tomorrow is chiropractor day, and grocery shopping. But today after Mom and Lee got back I was talking to Mom about some of the stuff that happened when I was in the US (in regards to the bus station person who was a bitch to me about taking my other bag on the bus, and worrying when Maddie and Chloe were late picking me up in Dayton, until I got Michelle's text message), and how I really wish I had a credit card for situations like that. The problem is that I've applied several times for several different credit cards, and I keep getting turned down, I think because I'm on disability and not actually working. Which, Mom informs me, is discrimination. .__.;

So tomorrow while I'm out I'm going to actually stop in at the bank and sit down to talk with someone about it. I need a basic credit card, or a line of credit, or at least a decent sized overdraft for emergencies. I'm sure I can work something out. I should be able to. I'm also going to speak to a customer service person at Walmart about getting a Walmart credit card as well, since they've turned me down several times as well. Everything is in order, except that I'm on ODSP. So... wish me luck?

...I am in the middle of an epic Supernatural marathon, of all the episodes from season 3 that I missed last year. 8D GOOD TIEMS. I love this show. ♥
senashenta: (Just Obsessed)
As promised, photos of Tohru, Kagura and Ayame. But first, since they've arrived and everything so now it's not a big spoiler, Damali and Vash, Companion customs that I made for [livejournal.com profile] etcetera_cat and [livejournal.com profile] kierseth for Christmas, and Key, which is the Companion custom I made for myself. I already posted pics of Malca way back like four months ago. XD;

So.

Damali (for [livejournal.com profile] etcetera_cat) was made from a G3 Citrus Sweetheart; she stayed white (yey), and was rehaired with Platinum White katsilk from restoredoll.com. Of the four Companions I did, Damali was the only one that needed to have her eyes re-painted, and I'm not entirely happy with the job I did, but I pretty much never am, so... and ARGH, her symbol didn't come off super cleanly, so there's a very faint shadow of orange and yellow on her rump. ><; But I'm probably the only one who can see it...

Anyway, she's my favorite of the Companion customs, I think she turned out really pretty despite all the little flaws I see. Mom really loves her hair. <3

Damali )

Vash (for [livejournal.com profile] kierseth) was made from a G3 Bowtie; again, he stayed white, and was rehaired with Platinum White katsilk. That's about it. I love doing ponies when I don't have to paint them or anything. XD;

Vash )

Key is the Companion I made for myself, and he's made from a G3 Royalette; he stayed white and was rehaired with Platunim White katsilk, just like the others. His eyes had to be retouched a bit because I seem to recall they had purple in them. All the Companion customs had blue ribbon and a silver bell (because those are Valdemar's colors, and a Companion has to have at least one bell when I send them out they go On Search, lol.)

In Key's case, his ribbon is on his leg, because he has an old injury there and limps a bit; from before he Chose. He limps a bit, but it's hardly even noticable and doesn't hinder him any. :) [/backstory]

Key )

The reason I used Royalette for my own Companion is because she came out of the box with a stupid little grey spot of discoloration on her leg. You probably can't see it in the photos, but I wanted the ones I sent to everyone else to be perfect. =3

I was writing a little fic about the four of us and our Companions, but I didn't get it done in time for Christmas. Maybe I'll make it an Easter gift or something. >>;

A pic of all four of them together~ )

AND! FURUBA PONIES!

Tohru was made from a G3 pony... but I can't remember her name. She was white with a purple mane (and some tinsel), and had a circle with music notes in it for her symbol? Anyway, she stayed white, but I removed her symbol. Then I rehaired her with Ash Brown katsilk. Her symbol is a 3-D smiling onigiri (a la the manga), and I repainted her hoof heart pink.

The ribbon around her neck is thicker than the ribbons I normally use for ponies, but I couldn't pass it up because it's the same colour/style as the one Yuki gave Tohru for White Day in the series. X3

Honda Tohru )

Kagura was made from a G3 Kiwi Tart; painted green, and her eyes painted brown. She was rehaired with Brunette 3 katsilk. Her symbol is a 3-D rendition of her animal form, done is Sculpey clay. I plan to paint the symbol for the Year of the Boar/Pig on her front hoof where her heart would be later...

I can't decide if I like the ribbon around her neck or not. I might remove it later.

Sohma Kagura )

And Ayame, finally, was made from a G3 Beach Comber (I think). His symbol was 3-D to begin with, so I had to cut it off, which was a huge pain in the butt. Anyway! Then he was painted purple, and the vines in darker purple and white were painted on with toothpicks. (The coloration was all loosely based on the outfit he's wearing on the cover of volume 9 of the English manga.) He was rehaired with Platinum White katsilk, and his eyes were painted gold. His symbol is a 3-D of his animal form (sense a pattern here? lol). Eventually I'm going to paint the symbol for the Year of the Snake on his front right hoof, just like with Kagura. :)

As a random note, I chose this particular pony to do him because the pose just screamed Ayame. X3

Sohma Ayame )

There~

There's one more I want to post photos of, too, but I won't until I get it shipped off to [livejournal.com profile] khriskin so that I don't spoil the surprise. ^_~

...this is the most ponies I've ever posted pics of at one time. |__|;;

Homeward

Back from Niagara! Yey!

The air there is terrible, it makes my asthma do backflips. -.-;; But other than that, it was fun. I have tons of photos and a huge long post for later, but for now... I'm too lazy. XD; lol.

Oh, so [livejournal.com profile] kierseth got her Christmas present-- did anyone else get theirs while I was gone? I'm trying to keep track. :)
senashenta: (Hotaru... Release Me)
So~ I spent a while today reorganising by movies and books a bit. I have to do that every year around this time because I always get DVDs and books for Christmas. XD; Plus one of my Ouran art books came in today (*fangirl squeal HERE*), so I needed space for that on my shelves, too. <33

I'll probably have to do it again after my birthday, too. ^_^; Which is January 3rd~ Getting close~

Ah! And thank you [livejournal.com profile] kierseth! Yay paid LJ time! =3

I hope my packages arrive to people soon... most of them haven't gotten to their destinations. I need to ship stuff earlier next year to try to avoid the bulk of the Christmas rush. You guys need to let me know when you get the stuff I sent so I can stop worrying about them, lol.

Oh... and Kisa and Kagura died this morning. Well, I mean some time last night I guess. I found them this morning. They were really old for mice, though, and they were both sick; Kisa had tumors, and Kagura had been losing weight for months, and I couldn't get her to gain it back. I'm sure they're happy wherever they are now. :)

Now I only have one mouse left; Ichigo. She's Tohru's daughter from her litter last October. She's over a year old now too, so she might not be around much longer either. I don't know if I'm going to get more mice once she's gone... I haven't decided yet.

I'll think on it...
senashenta: (Peace Out)
Yay new episode of Ouran. ^_^

So I didn't sleep last night... AT ALL. I just couldn't get to sleep, and I ended up spending most of the night burning computer discs for the new packages I'm putting together for [livejournal.com profile] etcetera_cat, [livejournal.com profile] kierseth and [livejournal.com profile] cat_mcdougall. Originally, the one for Cat McD was going to be mailed away last week, but I didn't get it done. Now I'm doing some discs for it, too, so it's not actually done at all. ^_^;;

But I'm out of CD sleeves. ;-; I've got to go buy more before I can finish packing everything up and ship stuff off. *note to self*

Eheheh... when I'm using the computer, Loki toddles over under the desk and curls up to sleep on my feet. >^-^< I think he likes the hum the computer makes. It's very cute, but sometimes he startles me if I don't see him coming. Suddenly there's just OMG SOMETHING TOUCHING MY FOOT.

lol.

Still MIA

senashenta: (Feeling A Little Crazy)
The Staples people told me their turn around was a day or two when I dropped my computer off, and since it had been three days yesterday, I called them to inquire about my PC... the woman I talked to was apologetic, but said that the guy who normally does the work was out with a back injury, so mine hadn't even been gotten to yet. She said I should get a call tomorrow (which is now today) or Friday about it at the latest.

First of all, whether there was someone out with a back injury or not, there are several people who work in the tech center doing the computer repairs. If he couldn't make it in, they should have called someone else in. Or at least called the people who were waiting to let them know. You shouldn't give out "you will get your computer back by ____" dates, when you can't deliver on it.

But I know that things happen, so I'm giving them some leeway. If they don't call tomorrow, I'm going to call them back again, though.

So right now I'm still computer-less and using five-minute blips on Sarah's to do journal entries and check me email and whatnot. Which means that I won't be able to catch [livejournal.com profile] cassandracenta until Sunday, since I won't have my computer back until tomorrow night at the earliest, and she's going away for Saturday. :P

Maybe I'll try scribbling out a scene without my computer... it will probably kill my hand, but whatever. ^_^;; Tendonitis sucks, by the way.

ANYWAY.

About the only other thing that needs reporting on it my hand! ...which is much better, thank you. ^^ Once the antibiotics kicked in and started clearing out some of the infection, I could start healing properly. Now the scratches are all healed (except for the faint pink lines I'll have for a while), and so is one of the bites-- I heal fast when I get a chance! lol.

I have three marks left that are still scabby (the two big bites, and one other smaller one that got infected, too), but other than still being a teeny bit swollen and red right around them, they're coming all great. I only really even notice they're still there when I bump them on something.

Also, right around the area of the bites, my skin is REALLY dry, and I'm not entirely sure why. It might be because of the antibiotics (which also make me quite sick to my stomach, in case I haven't mentioned it before), or maybe just because of the infection... who knows. I'll deal with it when the scabs are gone and I just have more scars to add to my collection. XD

Honestly? I find the number of scars I have amusing, myself. ^_^;;

OH! And I was fiddling with the random P.O.S. stuff I had hanging around, and putting it all into boxes, and LO AND BEHOLD, the box for [livejournal.com profile] cat_mcdougall is full and ready to ship! Actually, it's a little more than full. ^^;; Mostly because there's a bunch of stuff in it for her kidlings...

The ones for [livejournal.com profile] etcetera_cat and [livejournal.com profile] kierseth still need some stuff to finish filling them, but I figure they'll be done pretty soon. I can probably finish them and get Mom to stop and mail them on the way out of town next weekend. WHOOT. X3

And on that note... ONE MORE WEEK UNTIL ANIME NORTH. ^__^

EDIT: OMG CSI season finale tonight! *flails*
senashenta: (Dance! Dance! Dance!)
OMGSQUEE! Random Package of Stuff from [livejournal.com profile] kierseth! X3 *bounces*

Thank you Sethi! <3 Sarah brought it in for me, and I went downstairs a while later and there was just this box sitting outside my door, and I went "bwuh??" ?_? because I didn't think I had any packages coming in currently. But YAY!

Aaaaah... one of the jars broke in transit, though. ;-; So there was Apple Butter all over the place. It happened a while ago, too, because it'd had time to soak through the box... I literally tore it open from the bottom because it was so soggy. >^-^;; Oh well... I guess that's life. The Apple Butter smelled really good, too!

So I spent half an hour downstairs washing stuff off. Surprisingly, I managed to save almost everything! Even the manifesto and the pictures/postcards! ^_^ *is proud* Though some of the edible stuff got a little waterlogged and had to be eaten pretty quickly.

Yeah, and I'm really upset about that, too. T_T Muahaha...

Also? Blackberry jam? *drools* I rinsed that jar off and saw the label and did a little happy dance. XD

EDIT: Oh, and thank you in advance from my Mom! (And thank you from my kitties, too! Yay new cat toy!)

Oh! Oh!

It's today, right?

Sightless

Finished Sightless.

...it didn't turn out quite the way I wanted it to. =_=;

And in retrospect, the title pretty much has nothing to do with the story itself.

Whatever.

I hope you like it anyway, [livejournal.com profile] kierseth! Happy Birthday!

Your fic will be done in the next day or so, I promise!

I'm aiming for tomorrow.

Have a very happy birthday!

Meep.

My step-dad is going in for surgery on Thursday. O_O;

Mom told me that when they came by yesterday to pick Sarah and I up to go do groceries (it's a family outing for us!), and I was like "uh... what for?" To which she replied "his hurnia" (or however you spell it). He's had two surgeries in regards to that before, and it'll be okay for a year or two and then get worse again...

Maaaaaa... I know he'll be okay, but I still worry. ^^;;;

Random note: I'm seriously considering renaming my LJ "Accident Report"... for somewhat obvious reasons.

Random note #2: Whilst at work last night, I found myself suddenly overcome with a very strong urge to write a CSI/The X-Files crossover. O_o; I don't know where that came from, either...

And finally, I've been kicking around ideas for the birthday ficcy I'm writing for [livejournal.com profile] kierseth, and have decided it's going to be angsty (as opposed to dryly sarcastic, which was the other thing she would have liked) and take place in the same AU as the fic (Reality) I wrote for [livejournal.com profile] etcetera_cat's birthday back in August.

It's tentatively titled "Sightless", and watch me be creative and ironic with names! *drum roll HERE* The main characters are named Annai and Forenigh.

Cookies to anyone who can figure that out. >^-^

I'm just skimming through the So Long And Thanks For All The Fish! thread that was being RPGed over at Valdemar Calling (way back whenever we were playing it...) and having a good chortle over it.

Here's some of my favorite parts, in order of their appearance in the RPG, but relatively random because there are big gaps between them. >^-^;;;

Random Snippets! )

There were awesome characters in that one. ^^

*sighs* It was such a fun RP... too bad we never finished it. ;__;
senashenta: (Default)
Right! So! [livejournal.com profile] kierseth posted the first episode of Star Trek: Sheep Patrol (see the original chat we had as an explanation), and it made me laugh so hard! ^__^

Bravo, 'Sethi! *applauds* XD

Right! So! The really general and vague idea that I've been kicking around in regards to an attempt at a CSI fanfiction is finally coming around to an actual plotline--and [livejournal.com profile] etcetera_cat even says she'll beta-read for me! ^^ So basically, I'm just working out a few bits and pieces, and looking for some forensic/entomological/etc. databases online to use as references, and I'll be good to go!

For now, here's a random snippet, that probably contains spoilers for the soon-to-be CSI fanfic I'm going to write! )

Maaa... *pokes through bitty scene with her stick* Still getting used to writing the characters... any HUGE GLARING problems with them, you think?

Oh! And -cat! How would you like to bestow upon me all the knowledge you have about the general temperment of Pitt Bulls? >^-^;;; Ahaha... basically, I've been led to believe that Pitt Bulls as a breed are generally bred to be friendly and cuddly with people, and not so great with other animals, but are pretty unpredictable, really. They were originally bred for fighting, ne?

I need to find a website about Pitts, too...

Me head hurts. A lot.

Probably because I was stuck doing front work last night (ARGH!! >_<;;;) so I had to deal with a lot of whiney customers and incessant BEEP!ing through the headset. And I couldn't just ignore it like I normally do, 'cause I was the one who had to serve people.

I hate front work.

*not a people person, even one little little bit*

At least I got in my whole eight hours last night... when I'm baking, I usually only get seven-and-a-half hours (at the most), because it doesn't take me the whole eight hours to finish my job(s). But when I'm out front, I pretty much have to stay until at least 6 a.m., which is when all the people for the next shift clock in. ^^;;

In other news, [livejournal.com profile] kierseth offered to beta read/edit my Valdemar work for me. >^-^< Offered rather enthusiastically, I might add... ahaha... ^^;;;

Yay! Editor!

Also plan to post another Canadian Dragon ramble over at my GreatestJournal/NaNoWriMo Blog; this one is going to relate to Dragons, and the differences between the "traditional" view of them and my Dragons (from for Exit Normal and Canadian Dragon).

Anyone else going to attempt the NaNo this year?

I gave it a shot last year with Breathing Ghosts, but for various reasons (*coughcompletementalbreakdowncough*) I didn't get to 50,000 words... but it did get me actually working on Breathing Ghosts, as well as a bunch of other original novel(la)s, so in general it was a good thing.

Side note: I'm still jealous of [livejournal.com profile] etcetera_cat's Indigo Dreaming, which is far better than any of my original stuff so far... *plans to demand a signed copy once -cat gets it published and becomes world-famous*
