senashenta: (Blue Hearts Bunny)
First... sorry Michelle! ;o; I know I was supposed to be online last night so we could finish up that twins log, but I ah... slept all day instead. >>; The two days/nights before that were really long and tiring between one thing and another (not to mention I didn't sleep Wed night at all because of Pagan), and my CFS was all 'RAWR D<' so yeah. Imma go do a tag for you right as soon as I finish this post!

Second! Yesterday morning I dropped off a stool sample at the vet so it could be tested for Pasturella and Coccidiosis. Then last night Dr. Adare called to talk to me about Pagan and his mystery seizures.

Basically, he tested negative for everything, which is awesome, except it means we still have no clue what caused the seizures. So. She went home the night after I brought him in and went through all of her text books looking for something that can cause the symptoms I described. Aside from a couple of exotic diseases (like, in rabbits in Africa, etc., and which Pagan would have no way of contracting), the only thing she could come up with is possibly a magnesium or vitamin A and/or B deficciency.

So she suggested giving him vitamin suppliments in his water, and extra alfalfa (which is high in magnesium), and seeing how it goes. Pagan thinks he's special and getting extra treats, lol, and even if that's not what the problem is, some extra vitamins and hay won't hurt him. Phantom is quite upset though, she wants treats too dammit Mom!

Aaaand if he has seizures again, I'm supposed to call Dr. Adare and bring him in immediately. But that's the problem, aside from testing for the typical things, they can't do much unless he happens to have a fit while he's there and she's looking at him. -.-; Bah.

But he seems fine now, and is omgyeyhappy about the alfalfa chews I bought for him. xD; <3
senashenta: (I'm Only Acting Strong)
1) Pagan still seems fine. I'm hoping no more seizures, but I'm still nervous about it. -.-;

2) Nijuuni got the third part of her ARR comic out... and now I want gyouza. D: Maybe I can get Mom to take me to Yamato while we're out tomorrow. >.>

3) Also tomorrow, I need to remember to go to Walmart for ribbon. I'm doing a handful of kimono-styled ponies (similar to Ritsu) and need thicker ribbons in different colours for the bows. :3

4) Yeah, I woke up half an hour ago and had to get up to get a drink and stuff... and somehow ended up on the PC. xD; wtf? I fail. Oh well. Going back to bed now.

senashenta: (ARGH!)
Right, well last night Pagan had three seizures over the course of about four hours or so, and then they seemed to stop. Still, I didn't get any sleep last night, and first thing this morning I called the vet. Thank God the rabbit-specialist was in today, and they squeezed us in at 10 this morning.

So I packed Pagan up and took him in, and then we waited around for an hour because there had been a major emergency come in just before us (the poor woman, her cat was going into heart failure and they had to drain fluids from around it and everything, and then she had to decide if they should try to medicate her and give her another couple weeks, or if they should just euthanise her. It was so sad! D:)

Anyway, while we were waiting we weighed Pagan (he weighs just over a pound lol, the carrier was like four times his weight), and I talked with the receptionist, and took a rediculous number of comments about how pretty my baby boy is. He has a big head now. <3

Finally, once they got that kitty stabilized, Dr. Adare came to see us and had a look at him... and can't find anything wrong. That was the thing, by the time it was time to take him in, he was back to being bright-eyed and acting normal, it'd been about 9 hours since the last seizure.

She put him down on the floor and watched him poke around a bit to make sure his balance and movements were okay, and checked his ears and pupils, and took his temperature (no fever, actually his temp was a tad on the low side), as well as took a blood sample. Then he happened to pee on the exam table, so she took a urine sample too. Tomorrow I have to bring in a stool sample as well.

But just from looking at him, she's not sure what it might be. Aside from his fur being a little scruffy this morning (I assume because he's not feeling super well?) he seems fine. ><; Not that I want him to have more seizures, but come on! I'm still worried sick and I have no answers!

So she says tonight she's going to go through her textbooks and see if there's anything she hasn't thought of that explains all the symptoms I described, and let me know. For now just in case, I'm supposed to keep him away from the other buns, so none of them can have play time for the next few days, which I feel kind of bad about... but better safe than sorry.

Man, I don't know... *worryworryworry*

EDIT: Yay depressing first voice post. And then I ended up typing it out anyway because I'm anxious and need something to keep me busy. -__-;
senashenta: (Too Cute For Words)
I have five buns; Phantom, Phoenix, Pauper, Panyin and Pagan. Pagan is the only boy, and is currently unaltered. Clearly, he'll be getting neutered (around the end of this month), but for the time being he can't play with the girls because not all of them are spayed yet either.

So he has play time on his own, and putters around quietly by himself. He teases Kori through his cage, flirts with the girls through their cage, chases the cats, and comes over for pets whenever he wants some love.

But still, whenever I let the girls out for their play time, I get THE EYES. The big, shiny, sad, lonely, forlorn, please Mommy? eyes that he's proven to be so good at. And every time I give him scritches and tell him he can't play with the girlies yet, but he'll be able to soon, I promise.

And then today I suddenly realised that duh, he can totally play with Phoenix since she's already been spayed and is really friendly and mothering.

Thus, tonight I scooped Phoenix from the big cage (and got WTF looks from Pauper and Pan when they didn't get out at the same time), and then let Pagan out as well. And he was all OMG SRSLY YEY! lol. He's so happy to be able to play with one of the other buns, since he hasn't been able to since he was really little...

Anyway! That's my random story.

Like sharing a milkshake. Only granola. And without the milkshake. )

Look how little Pagan is... he's six-ish months old and not even as big as Phoenix, and she's a two pound Netherland Dwarf. And half of his size is his fur, lol. And he's still got one floppy ear and one standing ear! <3
senashenta: (Too Cute For Words)
This afternoon it was really nice out before the rainstorm and the power outage, wtf, and I've been so sick and cooped up, I decided to go outside and sit on the porch for a little while for some fresh air... and randomly decided to take Pagan with me.

Now. This was a good idea and a bad idea at the same time. It was the first time he'd been outside on his leash, and was like =3!!, which was amusing and generally put me in a better mood. But he was also not content to just putter around the five-foot area by the porch where I was sitting, so I ended up standing and walking around and really wearing myself out with following his bunny antics so by the time I went back inside I was exhausted and had a headache.

Oh well. Now I know.

It was amusing the looks I got from people walking past. One girl had to stop and actually ask if "that's a rabbit?" because she didn't believe it. And a few minutes into it, Robin and Jayne came home (they live in the first floor apartment), and chatted with us for a while... and went to the back garden and got some little survivor carrots as a treat for Pagan.

He really didn't want to go back inside when I did, but I had to. >>;;

EDIT: Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] lipstickcat! I gave the cats their Easter egg. First I just put it on the ground to see what they would do, and Loki nosed it around a bit and Tri set about licking it, and Neko gave me wtf Mom, you know better! looks. XD;

So then I broke it into pieces and gave them about half of it to munch on. I also took some down to share with Fritz and Fuzzy. And I still have half of it to give them at a later date.

I took photos, but I can't get them from my camera until I finish recharging the batteries~
senashenta: (Procrastinators Unite)
Okay, okay. Fine. I'll stop procrastinating over Sora!pony now. Jeez. >>;

*is also working on Axel!pony and Roxas!pony, and various other ponies*

Stupid Sora!pony. ><;

That's about it. Oh, except I got a new spring coat today (yesterday now I guess; it's white and mint green and love <3), and a huge-ass roll of lenolium for re-flooring the rabbit cage because the little buggers have decided that carpet = good eats.

Also, Pagan is definitely a boy. Mozaltov.
senashenta: (This Is Not Happening)
Right... today has been tiring. -.-;

We went to do groceries, but I haven't had money to buy anything the last three weeks, so I had about five gagillion stops to make. At least my tax money came in, so I could pick up some stuff that I haven't been able to, like spaghetti sauce and things like that.

My big splurge with my tax money was another rabbit harness/leash at the pet place for like $9, so now I have three; I can take Pagan, Phoenix and Pan out at the same time. Phantom refuses to wear one (she absolutely freaks out if I try putting one on her, and doesn't get along with the others anyway), so she can't go for walks, but the others like it. I also tried putting one on Pagan, and he just looked at me like "...what are you doing?" and then went about his business, so he'll probably be fine with it as well. :)

I might try taking Pauper and Phoenix out for the first time this spring tomorrow, if it's warm enough. <3

Anyway...

So I've been really down lately... even more so than usual. And I've had a couple of people asking about it, so maybe... I should just explain so that everyone understands, and hopefully doesn't worry so much.

I've always... )
senashenta: (The Bunny Is GOD You FOOLS)
lol, Pagan just scared the hell out of me. XD;;

I let him out to play, and he's so quiet and well behaved and was puttering around under the couch and I completely forgot he was out... and then he came out around the coffee table and I was all "WTF IS THAT I SUDDENLY SEE IN THE CORNER OF MY EYE?! O___o"

Ahhh, I fail. And now he and Loki have chased each other around in circles and ended up back under the couch.

Anyway~ right now I'm waiting for some paint to dry on Kairi!pony, then I can finish up the last of the painted details and she'll get set aside until I'm doing claywork later. I still need to buy some light lilac ribbon for her and make her a hood, dammit, but that's it.

Next is Riku! I'm procrastinating over Sora because his outfit is so rediculously complicated. >>;;

I need an icon with that bunny of death from Monty Python and the Holy Grail for posts like this. XD;;

1) Took Loki back to the vet today; his ears are still itching like crazy, and very red. One of his eyes is also puffy and red now, and he has dark spots in his whisker beds. He's more trouble than he's worth, lol.

The vet had a look at him again, and still can't find any real reason for any of the symptoms. Thus, I fret some more. Basically, from what they can tell (he's been seen by two different vets now, as Dr Adare wanted a second oppinion), he's got an allergy to something around here.

They say it's possible that he's developed an allergy to his food, or to cleaners, or even to the litter I use. But to make sure that's what it is, they gave him a shot of the kitty-equivallent of antihystamines; if it clears up over the next couple of days, it's an allergy; if not, it's something else.

If it is an allergy, they're going to put him on food trials, and I might have to give him pills for it.

At least they're mostly sure it's not anything super serious. :)

2) I'm 100% sure Pagan isn't pregnant, lol. He gained a bunch of weight... then ended up in a growth spurt, so now he's all even again. And yey he's growing so I'm not so worried about him being tiny and scrawny still.

But... I was having a look at him tonight, and I think he is actually a girl bunny. Hm. Whatever. If he's a girl, then I can put him in with the others and he won't be lonesome anymore-- but I don't want to do that until I'm sure.

I have to take Loki back to the vet on Monday, so maybe I'll just bring Pagan with me and get the vet to sex him just in case.

Is it stupid for me to still be referring to him as "he" even though I think he's a girl? >>;;

Anyway, no big deal but I'd like to know for sure...

3) PONIES.

I've started Sora/Kairi/Riku ponies for my KH set, and I've prepped my ponies for my Rayearth set. I'm having trouble deciding on poses for my Gravi set. XD;; lol.

I'm doing Mokona!pony out of a McD pony so that it's little and cute compared to my Rayearth ponies, and the Tsubasa ones I'm planning out. Mokona is so cute~~ and I'm doing a Madoki one for the Tsubasa set, too (2 Mokona and 1 Madoki all together.) =3

I need to choose bait ponies for Axel, Roxas and Namine now...

1) A little while ago, [livejournal.com profile] smoulderedtears and I applied for characters in the Lumiere RP; rather than let us know if we were accepted or not, the mods just deleted our applications, and blocked our journals from posting again.

All I can say is; W.T.F.

Okay, so I'm assuming we weren't accepted. Duh. But the common sense, common curtesy thing to do is at least tell the person that they aren't accepted, and give them a reason why. I did something wrong in my app? Fine. TELL ME, so I at least know what's going on.

So Kao-mun and I went to the "questions" board and left polite questions in regards to it, basically asking why our applications had been deleted with no response whatsoever, and explaining that we both felt rather offended by the fact that they hadn't bothered to do anything but DELETE and then barr us from applying again and/or posting anywhere in the various parts of their rp. This had to be done from alternate journals, mind you, because the ones we used to apply in in the first place had been banned.

Their response? They deleted our questions, again without a reply, and then barred the journals we used to post the questions, too.

You know what? That's remarkably, rediculously rude, and I'm quite pissed off about it. But if that's the way that rp is run, and how the mods act (like spoiled children, basically), then I don't think I really want to be part of it anyway.

[/Lumiere rant]

2) A few entries ago I was fretting over Pagan being too skinny, and asking any vet nurses on my f-list for advice about it; well, things have changed, but I don't know if it's for the good or not.

Basically, now Pagan is still quite skinny, but has a round little belly on him. I was afraid it was GI Stasis or another gastrointestinal problem, so I've been keeping a very close eye on him... again, he seems healthy enough; he's eating (pellets, timothy hay and veggies/fruits), pooping, peeing, still cuddly, playful and keeping himself clean. He and Pan were recently introduced to strawberries, and he's like ZOMGYEYMOREPLEASEMOMMY??

I even checked his teeth, just in case he had a problem with them and wasn't chewing his food enough, or something stupid like that, but they're fine. (Pagan loves being on his back, btw, he's the only one of my buns that'll do that. Flip him over and he'll lay like that forever! ♥)

Anyway, I can't think of any reason for him to have such an overly round belly on him... except a few minutes ago I had a panic moment-- what if he's PREGNANT? What if he was sexed wrong at the pet store, and I can't tell properly? ><

If that's the case, then it would have to have happened at the store before I even brought him/her home because Pan is for sure a girl (clearly, for some reason both Rex rabbits I have are easy to identify when you have a look up their skirts), and so are my other buns. Now I'm worried. Mwaaaaa~

Should I take him to the vet? He's healthy aside from the belly, and it seems pointless if there's nothing wrong...

>___<;;

3) Today the orange hair I ordered for Kyou!pony came in (along with some more white and black, which I don't need right now, but will probably need at some point between now and the end of May.) It's... Orange Blossom? I think that's the name. I got it from restoredoll.com, as always. I've tried various brands/types of hair over the last year and between the product and the service, I always end up going back to katsilk and restoredoll. :)

The orange is a little brighter than I thought it was, but not overly so, and actually matches the shade of orange paint I have almost perfectly, so I'm pretty happy. I'll probably finish up Kyou!pony tonight (he's been nagging me about it, since Yuki!pony has hair and he doesn't-- he was not happy! lol.), and possibly Hatori!pony as well. I was going to rehair Hatori last night, but I ended up with a headache and not feeling really well, so I didn't get it done...

And I'm really annoyed with Loki right now; while I was out this morning, he climbed up on the table, stole the little clay fish I'd done for Arisa!pony's symbol, carried it halfway across the apartment, and then chewed it all to hell. =__=;; So now I need to redo that...

4) I got goyza today~~ <33

I try to get Japanese from the place by the mall as often as I can; they make awesome food, and it's all cooked with water instead of oil. They make the best teriyaki. ^_^ They make good tempura, too, and now I've tried the goyza... which was awesome. *_* I loved it even though it was pork-- the spices and stuff were perfect!

I think I'm going to find that I love almost everything they do. XD;

Next time I'm going to try their yakisoba~

5) OMG Cassandra-san look... AN ND SCENE! =O Shocking, I know. Not a very long one, but one nonetheless. Hopefully I can get them out on a relatively regular basis from now on. I miss ND. ;.;

Raitei had developed an accute dislike for Hikaru, much to the violet-haired woman's amusement. )

I'd almost forgotten how much I love ND-Hikaru. The goof. ♥~
senashenta: (Blue Hearts Bunny)
Hey, I have a couple of vet nurses on my f-list, so this is for them; I have... A QUESTION.

So I've had Pan and Pagan for 3-ish weeks now; Pan is living with Phoenix and Pauper, but Pagan is in a cage next to theirs because I don't want pregnancies. He can play with Phoenix since she's spayed, but Pauper and Pan aren't (yet, I'm planning to get them done some time between now and the summer.)

Anyway!

My question is about Pagan; when I brought he and Pan home, they were both bitty little things, and since then Pan has been growning and gaining weight steadily, but Pagan has stayed much the same. He's grown a little, but still seems skinny; you can feel his spine and ribs.

He's eating everything I give him (pellets, hay, apples, celery, carrots, and occasionally granola w/ raisins), drinking fine, pooping/peeing fine, and seems energetic and happy. His coat is fluffy and soft and shiny. He loves to explore, loves to cuddle, loves to play with the cats, and especially loves to sit on the desk next to me while I'm on the computer.

Nothing seems wrong, but I'm still a little concerned about his weight (or lack thereof); he's the first lop rabbit I've had, though, and I've noticed some things that set him apart from the others, mostly in his body shape and conformation. Are there other differences? Are their metabolisms different? Are lops naturally thinner?

Am I worrying about nothing?

The last few days, I've been letting Pauper and Phoenix out to play at the same time as Pan and Pagan; at first it was a little iffy, they were all wary, but there was no real animosity, and they slowly got used to each other. Then I started leaving the cages open while they were playing, so that they could poke about inside each other's home base.

When that went well (and Pan and Pagan surprised me with how high they could jump, they can already hop their way up to most of the shelves inside the big cage <3), today when Pauper and Phoenix decided they'd had enough playing and headed home, Pan and Pagan were poking about inside the cage-- and instead of collecting them and putting them in their own cage, I just shut the door.

We'll see how it goes, but so far so good. If any problems crop up, I'll move them back to the smaller cage again and try again later. As it is, Pagan is going to have to go back to the other cage in a bit so that he doesn't get at any of the girls before he's neutered. >>; I still have a bit of time, though, and I want them all to bond, so...

Anyway!

BUNNY PHOTO SPAM: NOT GOOD FOR SLOW CONNECTIONS! XD )

Pagan has the cutest helecopter ears right now because they haven't completely fallen yet. XD;

EDIT: Aw, group grooming session~ ♥

Man, I did the stupidest thing today. -__-;

I deposited $40 into the bank, since I'm in the red again this month and needed to bring my balance above the negatives... but I only imputted $20, so that's all that was credited to my account.

DAMMIT SENA~! ><;;

So tomorrow I have to call the bank and explain things to them and see what I can do.

In a completely unrelated topic, I'm letting Pagan and Pan have run of the apartment for the first time right now; Pan is hopping herself around like no tomorrow (and spending a lot of time by Phantom's pen, so Phantom's freaking out), but Pagan has yet to leave the safety of their cage. Poor little guy. I think he's scared of the cats.

Which is stupid, since they're all afraid of the rabbits. >>;;
senashenta: (Too Cute For Words)
Panyin & Pagan~

I went back into the pet store for critter bedding, and the bunnies were still there... including the one who licked the glass when I was wiggling my finger at her. >.< And because I'm weak as hell, my household has grown by two more residents. >>;

Panyin is the grey girl (the lick-y one, lol), and she's a mini-rex, just like Phantom, so she's super soft. She'll be called Pan for short. I was considering calling her Pippin at first. XD;

Pagan is the black and white boy (yes, I said boy), and he's a mini-lop. His ears haven't fallen yet, but the breeder assured the store that they would; even if they don't, I still think he's cute and squishy. ^_^

They're both very friendly and lovey, and Phantom already likes them. Phoenix is curious, and Pauper is kind of wary. But none of them are upset by Pan and Pagan's presence, so things are already looking good. <3

Pagan needs to be neutered in a couple of months, obviously, since he's the only boy I have, but it should fall approximately when I'm selling ponies at AN, so it'll all work out. :)

I'll be posting more photos later, I'm sure. But right now they're settling in (their cage is next to the big one that Phoenix and Pauper are in), and I don't want to bother them just yet.

The pet store has the cutest little black and white mini-lops right now, and I WANT ONE.

Actually, they have two that I want. One is one of the mini-lops, and one is a netherland dwarf that came over and licked the glass by my finger when I was wiggling it at them and making kissy faces. X3

I DO NOT NEED TWO MORE RABBITS.

Now if I could just convince myself that was true... >>;;
