Yesterday Mom and I went to Toronto for my appointment with the gastroenterologist. Basically, it took an hour and a half to drive there, almost two hours of waiting in the waiting room for the appointment (the doctor was running stupidly late), and then when I finally got in, the phone rang TWICE in the middle of the consult, which he picked up, and then talked about finances for twenty minutes each time while I sat there with nothing to do.

Then he told me I'm fat because I don't eat properly and don't excersize, which I'm used to hearing from doctors by now. It's very frustrating because it's not fucking true, but that he would do the surgery anyway. Then he told me I had to make appointments with three other specialists before he could even do the real consult with me. WHAT? You couldn't have told me that over the phone so I could do that BEFORE driving way the hell down there? FFS. Then after the next consult with him, it's 4-6 months until the surgery. *sigh* What a pain.

Anyway, to make up for that craptacular experience, Mom and I went to the World's Biggest Bookstore while we were there (turns out it's half a block from the Greyhound station and I never even realised *facepalm*), where Mom got me volumes 7-10 of After School Nightmare, 1-2 of Cherry Juice and Absolute Boyfriend (which I subsequently downloaded scanlations of the rest because it was so good, I'm so buying the rest of the set!), the first volume of Tsubasa (Those With Wings) and 6 of Vampire Knight. Also, a book on handwriting analysis, a nightmare encyclopedia, a book about cults, a book about the knights templar, a Sylvia Browne book on psychic children, Deluge by Anne McCaffrey and Elizabeth Ann Scarborough (FINALLY) and Crime Spells, which is a short story collection about magical crimes. >w<~

Right!

There hasn't been any new news on Wally since Sunday. Originally, they had said that if he didn't show any improvement over the weekend, they would pull the plug on Monday. Saturday night, he started trying to breathe on his own again, though, and Sunday he started moving a little and his eyes were open off-and-on (though they're unsure if he was actually seeing or not). He's still got to be on life support, and obviously hasn't been talking, but since they're seeing improvement, now they're waiting longer to see how he does in a more long-term setting. We're all still really hopeful that he'll pull out of it...

And finally, tonight's Grey's Anatomy? = DDDDDDDDDDDD8 NUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU. I literally gasped out loud and sat up with my hands over my mouth when Merideth figured out who John Doe was... ;___; And Izzy...

EDIT: Also, HOLY SHIT STAR TREK WAS AN AWESOME MOVIE. O___O!!

EDIT #2: A couple days ago, the people who were supposed to be custom-making the boots I was going to be using for Org13!Dem and Lavi cosplay emailed me and backed out. WTF. SO ANNOYING, especially so close to Anime North. They refunded the money, and I was panicking about not having the boots, but Mel says she can make me some bootcover-things, so it should be okay. Then I can try to find the actual boots later on. Yay~

EDIT #3: *facepalm* God, lookit the edits today. Anyway, my passport came in and I picked it up yesterday. AWESOME. Now assuming I can afford it, I can get into the US for Otakon. :D

I currently have a bunch of fun dye circulating in my body. It's not radioactive or anything, but still. :P

The CAT scan went fine, though I started to freak out a bit when they put the IV needle in my arm, taped it there, and then sent me back to the waiting room. Sitting there in a hospital gown, with a big ass needle in my arm, surrounded by strangers, I had a bit of a panic attack. I don't do well with situations like that. But once they took me back to have the scan done, and I was away from the crowded waiting area, I was good again.

In any case, they pumped me full of dye, scanned me, took the IV out, and sent me on my way; when I was originally supposed to be getting my scan done here, I was supposed to get it done and then go to the ER to wait for the results. But since I had to go out of town to get it done, I have to wait for my doctor to call me with the results instead.

Which basically means that I still don't know if I have clots in my lungs or not, but it's a serious possibility. Fun stuff.

So, having been poked, prodded, stabbed and scanned, I headed out, and since we were in Barrie already, Mom and I went to Chapters. We were planning to go on this Monday coming up anyway, but this saved us a trip. I proceeded to spend way too much money on books/manga for me (they still don't have volume 11 of Furuba, dammit!) and Christmas pressies for other people.

--Tyrannosaurus Sue, by Steve Fiffer
--The Lost Dinosaurs of Egypt, by William Nothdurft (with Josh Smith)
--The Unicorn, by Nancy Hathaway
--Candidate For Goddess, manga volumes 1 & 2, by Sugisaki Yukiru
--Tokyo Mew Mew manga volume 1, by Ikumi Mia and Yoshida Reiko
--Chobits manga volumes 2 & 3, by CLAMP
--Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle manga volume 7, also by CLAMP

I was originally looking for Fruits Basket #11, Gravitation #4, and Mahoromatic #4, but they didn't have any of them. And since I finally managed to finish up some of my manga series the last time I bought some (I finished Instant Teen, Tokyo Mew Mew a La Modé, Deus Vitae and Tokyo Babylon), I figured I could start a couple of new ones; hence Candidate For Goddess and the first Tokyo Mew Mew series. Also, I've had the first volume of Chobits for about a year now, and am finally working on collecting more of that set. ^^;;

As for the book books, I've been having a serious dinosaur jones lately for some reason, which is why I got the two books pertaining to dinosaurs. I haven't bought a new dinosaur-related book in about a year and a half (I think), so I'm looking forward to reading them. The unicorn book I just got because I found it in the discount racks, and it looked interesting-- it's a little encyclopedia of "unicorn" myths from all over the world, and talks about the differences between them. :)

And that's just what I bought for myself. ^_^;; I'm not gonna list the other stuff, 'cause some of it's for people on my f-list...

Anyway, after the book store, we went to the Walmart across the road, where I got a Christmas gift for my brother, my step-dad, and my brother's girlfriend. AND I got myself two cheap DVDs... because they were FRAGGLE ROCK! X3 I have Fraggle Rock DVDs now!

...and now I'm really tired, because I can't breathe very well. But I have stuff to do, so off I go.

EDIT: Also, I was browsing DevART last night, and found ~PaperCut's gallery. It was awesome. Not specifically for art, but because she makes custom My Little Ponies, and does an awesome job of it. ^_^ I know, I'm childish. But check her gallery out. And dude. These two made me giggle and squeal: Sesshoumaru MLP and Naraku MLP. X3

Dance your cares away, worries for another day! Let the music play, down at Fraggle Rock!

First thing's first, I took Neko and Tri to the vet today-- it was Neko's checkup after the last time, and he had to have another urinalysis (sp?) done, and the two of them were due for their vaccines (hence Tri going with us as well.)

SO.

I put Neko into the kitty carrier, and clip a leash onto Tri, since Tri is teeny and (supposedly) easier to hang onto if he freaks out.

.... =_=;;

We head downstairs, and as soon as we get outside, he has an ATTACK. He squirms, he wails, he climbs up onto my shoulder and tries to leap to safety, efectively half-hanging himself in the process. I retrieve him, pet him a bit to try to calm him down... and then sigh, give up, and let him sit on my shoulder while I head to the car.

And then, OMFGBBQ, this is the part where he has a nervous breakdown and pisses all over me. >_<;; All over me! My back, my shoulder, my neck, and even in my hair. It drips down the front of my jacket and soaks into my shirt.

I'm not afraid to admit that I flung him down off of me. He landed on the ground and cowered. I picked him up by the scruff of the neck and marched him to the car, where he hid under the seat until we got to the vet's office. The appointment went okay. Then Tri went into the kitty carrier and I carried Neko home in my arms, as he was relatively calm.

Anyway! Neko is all better now, and has lost a pound and a half to boot. ^_^ He's all good.

I, on the other hand, was in desperate need of a shower before I went out again. -_-;; So we dropped the cats off, and Mom hung around here while I did just that. Then we went to this temporary discount bookstore that opened up at the corner near where she lives, and poked through the tables there for about 45 minutes.

-The Medium, The Mystic, and the Physicist: Toward a General Theory of the Paranormal (LeShan)
-Clones and Clones: Facts and Fantasies About Human Cloning (Nussbaum/Sunstein)
-Great SHARK Writings (Taylor/Goadby)
-Complete Guide to Vitamins, Minerals and Herbs (Ulene, Dr.)
-600 Garden Favorites (Dunn/Kite)

Mostly for my writing. The Garden Favorites one is an encyclopedia of garden plants. ^^ And I got The Incredible Internet Guide to Star Wars for my Dad, because it was amusing. XD

After the bookstore, we did some other little shopping bits, and I got some Christmas stuff for [livejournal.com profile] etcetera_cat (SHINY!) and for [livejournal.com profile] cat_mcdougall's kiddies. All in all it was generally a busy day.

I'd say "good"... except for the being peed on thing. .__.
