I did nothing today. Got up at 7-ish when Angel somehow managed to open the door to my room and got up onto the bed... then went back to sleep about half an hour later. Slept until lunch time, had spaghetti, went back to bed.

I was supposed to go to Huntsville with Grandma and Bea this afternoon, but I've had really really freaking bad cramps all day; hence all the sleeping. I've also been taking massive ammounts of motrin. -___-;;

Alright! *cracks knuckles* Ow my thumb! ;~; I took about 50 pictures while Grandma and I were in Niagara Falls, so clicking on any cuts in this post won't be good for low bandwidth Internet connections. ^_^;

Thursday: Grandma picked me up around 8:30 in the morning, hurray! (So... tired...) We packed everything up in the car, and headed out! Angel (her dog) was all excited, of course. She loves to travel. <3

Just into Barrie, we made a stop because I made big eyes at Grandma and asked if we could pretty please go to the Chapters there. ^.^ We spent about a half an hour at the bookstore, and I got Forever Odd by Dean Koontz, Hypnosos: Secrets of the Mind by Michael Streeter, and volumes 10/11 of Tsubasa by CLAMP. Then Grandma got me Anatomy For The Artist and a very sad looking stuffed tiger, named Tuffley. But he's so cute, isn't he? X3 lol.

After that, we went to McDonalds and I got a couple of chicken wrap things because I really like them. Then it was back in the car and heading off again!

[-insert almost 4 hours of driving HERE-]

When we got to Niagara, we went straight to Aunt Jackie and Uncle Lawrence's place (back when I was first talking about it in here I said Aunt Jean and Uncle Bob, I FAIL!) and unloaded our stuff. (They're actually my Great-Aunt and Great-Uncle.)

I hadn't seen them in so long! But not much had changed really, lol; Uncle Lawrence is still sarcastic and a fusspot, and Aunt Jackie still tries to feed people constantly. So we ate when we got there.

They got a new kitten for Christmas; their son got it for them. He's a Himalayan, and he cost over $1000. I was petting him and told him he was adorable, but really not worth that much money. Sorry kitty. He doesn't have a name yet-- I tried to name him Aiden, but Aunt Jackie didn't like it. ^_^;;

So after we got the car unloaded and ate, I asked if we could go down to the Falls so I could take pictures. Grandma didn't seem to realise that I wanted to do things while we were there, not just sit around the house. But she was willing to do some stuff with me. <3

Thus, we went down and took some pictures! )

Then we went to walk down Clifton Hill to do some souvenir shopping; I got some bits and pieces for all kinds of people and shall mail them off sooner or later, and I took a bunch more pictures! ) While we were shopping, Grandma also bought me a bear to go with the one I got last time I was in Niagara, like... ten years ago. ♥

Then we drove around and looked at the lights, since the Festival Of Lights is still on; I couldn't get any pictures, though, since it was dark and none of them turned out. ;.; Boo. They were pretty, though!

And then we went back to Uncle Lawrence and Aunt Jackie's place, and had Chinese for dinner from the best Chinese place ever. It was called The Far East, I think.

Friday: I slept really, rediculously late because I was so tired from the trip the day before. Then Aunt Jackie tried to feed me (of course), but I wasn't hungry.

Then Grandma and I went out to the Butterfly Conservatory, where I took pictures again! )

It was really warm there, obviously, since a lot of the butterflies they have are tropical breeds. I couldn't get and photos that did it any justice; the place was absolutely beautiful. And in the summer it would be even better, because they have huge grounds around the main conservatory with flowerbeds and such.

And while I was there, I got a pretty suncatcher/windchime. =3

After the butterflies~ we went to see the Birds Of The Lost World exhibit; it's the largest indoor aviary in the world, and was just as gorgeous as the conservatory! There were three sections; the small bird aviary ), the nocturnal aviary (which we weren't allowed to take flash photos in, so none of mine turned out XD;), and then the main/large bird aviary. )

Even the outside billboard was fancy and spiffy. ^^ Inside, it was like a jungle, and with all these twisty turns and stone paths, and you could go behind the waterfall and everything~

And in the giftshop, I got the coolest snake EVER! XDD It's a Siamese twin Krait, and is more than half the length of the couch. They had tons of snakes, but this was the most unique one, so I had to get it, lol!

And then when we went home... we had meat for dinner. MEAT. Aunt Jackie cooked pork chops, steak, and meatballs, and nothing else. O____o But I guess for one night that won't hurt me too much...

Saturday: Got up a little earlier, but we didn't have much to do that day. :)

Aunt Jackie and Uncle Lawrence's kids (Tommy and Brenda) came over to help chop wood (their house is wood-stove heated) and hung around for a bit. Uncle Gordon and Aunt Terry came too; Gordon is Grandma's brother. ^^ Their whole family is tons of fun to be around. We all hung out and chatted, and we ordered pizza for dinner from this place called Papa Nick's-- who makes AWESOME pizza!

Why does Niagara Falls have so many good restaurants? =O

Tommy brought his son Andrew (my... third cousin?) over with him. Andrew is eight, and normally I don't like kids, but he's a darling, really. ^^

He asked me all about Orillia and my family, and tried to teach me to play one of his video games (but I FAILED, of course), and then later on he found out I'd brought some ponies to work on... and you should have seen how excited he got!

He asked if he could please help me paint them (apparently he loves crafty-type things), and I said sure. So he painted three whole ponies (and did a decent job of them, I don't even have to fix them too much! XD;) and asked tons of questions about what I did with them, and how I painted them, and how I rehaired them, and how I sold them and all that kind of things. :)

Anyway, Tommy and Andrew spent the night because Andrew found out we were leaving early this morning and got really upset because he wanted to be able to say goodbye when we were heading out.

Sunday/Today: Got up really early. >>;;

We basically packed everything up, and loaded the car; Brenda came over again to say goodbye, and Andrew gave us both a big hug (he says next time we come down we have to go visit at his house, too), and we got going.

I was glad to be getting on the way-- not that I don't love it there-- I'd live there if I could, but the air there is really smoggy, and really humid, so it makes my asthma act up in a seriously bad way. ;___; It sucks...

So! On the way home we stopped at Uncle Len and Clare's place for a few minutes (just to drop something off), and then had lunch at Wendy's, and then came to my place. Yey. Then lots of unpacking and catching up on my f-list and whatnot.

And that's about it. <33

Mom and I went to the Chiropractor today, and then afterward we went to visit Grandma and Grandpa.

It was strange. Almost surreal.

We went to visit them about a month and a half ago, before Grandpa started feeling really sick, and everything was fine, just like it always was. Then today, things were just... dismal.

Grandpa can barely keep himself sitting up, and he's in constant pain. He going into coughing fits if he speaks to loudly, or moves too fast. He's so tired he can barely keep his eyes open most of the time, and drifted off more than once while we were there. He's also lost a lot of weight, and he's very pale...

It's almost unbelievable, how much can change in such a small amount of time.

Grandma is really stressed and sad, too. Grandpa doesn't want her to fuss over him or worry, but how can she not? She's not sleeping well, and neither of them are eating much. She's lost weight, too, and just looks very weary. Not at all like the Grandma that I've known for my whole life this far...

And their poor dog, Angel, just wants to play and cuddle with them both, and can't understand why she's being pushed away. She's not allowed to jump up onto Grandpa's lap anymore, or roll around against his side, because it hurts him when she does.

It was terribly sad. Crushing.

Just seeing them like that made me want to cry, but that's the last thing they needed to see.

....

Life is so fucking unfair sometimes.
