Misc Things

I slept through most of yesterday. I've been really sick for two months now, and it's just really taken a lot out of me. I'm getting more and more exhausted every day. But I guess I shouldn't complain too much. There are other people going through worse right now and some of them have to put up with the stupid US health care system on top of everything.

Anyway, I woke up early this morning and watched a couple of movies; Walled In and House. They were alright. I actually enjoyed the first one quite a bit. The second one was confusing. I think it might have made more sense if I had read the book, it seemed like they might have left some things out or something. Or I just blinked at the wrong time. *shrug*

Today I've also written my letter to Jose. I have some things to send to him along with the letter, so I need to go out and get a 6"x9" padded envelope (that's the biggest you're allowed to send through World Vision). I'm sending some pencil crayons and a sketch pad, as well as some candies, and some photos of the snow here.

All of my ear piercings are trying to get infected again. They're all sore and a little puffy. So I had to take most of my earrings out to let them settle down. I'll put them back in again in a week or so. *shrug*

I pulled out my cosplay stuff last night to dig through it; I have eleven wigs. XD; Two of them are previous Demyx wigs though, which I will probably be getting rid of at some point. I still need to fix the bangs on my Haine wig before AN, but I still have three months so I'm not in a hurry. I've got everything I need for AN purchased now, with the exception of some hair cement, black spray paint, and my Org13 coat. I may also need new shoes for my Haine cosplay, but I won't know until the outfit gets here so I can see what it looks like with the ones I already have.

I went through the jewelry, keychains and phone straps that I've done so far and priced them, then added up the totals, and I assuming I was to sell every piece, I have $709 worth finished. XD; And of all of that, there are only eight pieces that are more than $5.

I guess now I should probably get back to working on ponies. >.>;

When I go to Otakon this summer, there's a chance I'll be going back to Dayton again (for more than two days this time!) It's going to depend on how much I can sell at AN, since it'll be extra for the ticket from Baltimore to there, obviously. I really want to go, but I have to wait and see until I know for sure if I can or not. *fingers crossed*

Today Mom almost gassed us all. By accident of course. The cat litter box in the basement apparently has a leak, and she went to clean it up; cat urine is mostly ammonia (duh) and she didn't think about it and just poured bleach down to clean it. >.<; Then there was frantic mopping it up while it made us both cough and burned our eyes like hell. My eyes hurt for like an hour. -.-; But you know, at least the floor is clean? XD;

Tomorrow I'm going to Walmart to get a copy of KH: Chain of Memories, and a gift for Jose. And a new litter box. >__>;

Was bored a little while ago, so I messed around and changed Nazoko's hair. She came with three wigs (the one in the pics before, plus two others that are the same except for a vague colour difference) so I put one of the other ones on. It's much longer and has bangs on it. I like it. And since I have two I'm considering attempting to dye it red. If it works out then I don't have to buy a red wig for her... though I have my heart set on this one. We'll see I guess.

Nazoko and Tetsuya. )

EDIT: Maddie, I went through my craft cupboards, and I have a TON of ponytail/etc. beads for you to make yaoi/gay pride bracelets out of. ♥

EDIT #2: Also, [livejournal.com profile] jarrn, thank you so much for suggesting those Soft Paws things for Loki! I'd never heard of them before, but they look promising, and I'm really really hoping they'll work so I don't have to get his back claws done after all.

A Letter

I got a letter from my sponsored child, Jose, yesterday. He doesn't speak English, so World Vision was kind enough to translate it for me:

"DEAR SPONSOR:

I greet you with much love, hoping you are in good health, when this letter reaches you, enjoying blessings with your family and those around you.

The people in the village work in agriculture, growing corn and millet. The geographical area is sloped, and the weather is hot. My family and I live in a house made of adobe walls, fiber-cement roofing material. We usually eat beans, rice, eggs, cheese, and corn tortillas. Transportation means in the village consist of buses and bicycle. I would like to know you through a photograph.

Bye to you now, hoping God is blessing you always. Until next time.

Jose"

I'm writing him a letter back, and sending him a photo. I think I might also send him a gift, since his birthday was last month. A soccer ball or something, and maybe some treats like cookies or something. ♥

I'm now sponsoring a World Vision child. His name is Jose, and he lives in El Salvador. He'll be ten in January (I think.) The guy came around trying to enlist people, and it was something I had been considering for a while, so I figured it was as good a time as any. Plus, it's only $35 a month, which I'm sure I can manage to afford. Though next month will be my first month, since I have zero extra cash this month. Even the rest of Christmas is going to have to go onto my credit card when it comes in in a few days.
