What I'm rapidly learning through this whole I Was Mauled By A Cat experience is that I have no coordination with my left hand. ^_^; lol.

I'm right handed, and that's the hand that Fritz shredded; I'm chewed all to hell, swollen, and very very sore. When I stand/walk, I have to hold my hand up, because if it hangs by my side it just THROBS. Anyway, because of the nature/placement of my injuries, I can't use my thumb for pretty much anything-- so I can't grip stuff. Which is why I need to use my left hand.

But I totally suck at doing stuff with that hand. Ahaha. ^^;

This is how they ordered me to wrap it. )

You can probably see where the antiseptic/non-stick padding is underneath the gauze... but the pad isn't that thick. Most of what looks like "thickness" there is because my hand is swollen all to shit. I've finally stopped bleeding, too! But the big hole is still oozing clear stuff, which I can never remember the actual name for. ..

At least I can still type! Though I can't do much else, including using the TV remote control... :P

And to top it all off, I'm cooking a turkey today! XD We'll see how that goes!

I had to unwrap my hand for a bit because it's just throbbing so badly. I'm trying to decide if I should put together an ice pack or something.

Anyway, I thought I'd mention the other thing I've realized through this whole thing; I have really good, wonderful, well-behaved cats. ^^

I should never complain about the little things they occasionaly do wrong, like getting up on a table to look at the mice-- or not having enough patience to wait until I get up for their food and getting up with me on the bed to poke about and try to wake me-- or Neko stealing bites of food out of Tri's dish when he thinks I'm not looking. These are so small and unimportant, I really shouldn't let them bother me. (I still correct them, though.)

Honestly, I don't think they've ever done anything seriously wrong; they both even cooperate when I give them baths, and I manhandle them all the time without complaint. They're both wonderful, friendly, and gentle/affectionate with my other animals (particularly the rabbits). They never try to escape outside. They've never bitten or scratched anyone for any reason-- they both have more of a flight response than a fight one.

The only time I've ever been scratched by either of them is once or twice in the summer, when I'm wearing shorts, and it's getting time to trim their back nails; if they jump off my lap at the wrong angle, sometimes I get nicked.

Even when it comes to actually trimming their nails! Tri will sleep through it if I just do it while he's snoozing, though Neko hates having them done. But still, he squirms and thrashes, but never offers to nip or scratch. It's a pain to pin him down to do it anyway, but I know I'm safe with him.

I've really lucked out with both of my boys. =^-^=

I just set about changing my bandages... and my hand is all infected. So I guess tomorrow morning, I'll be off to the hospital. Again.

BLOODY FUCKING HELL.
