Thoughts On Voices
Dec. 3rd, 2007 08:35 pmI think I'm getting sick... I mean, with a cold or something, not just with my usual kinds of sick. >>; My lungs have been kind of rattly, and my nose is running, and I've had a headache. Plus, yesterday my throat was hurting (it's not hurting anymore today), which is the entire point to this entry.
My throat felt much the same as when I used to VA and did too much in one day... and thus I was thinking about VAing and how much I miss it. D:
Mmm... my favourite roll of any of the ones I did was Seiya/Starfighter in MiLL-san's Stars dub, of course. I was so proud when I got that role! And unlike a lot of fandubs that never get off the ground, we actually did get an episode and a half done. Then something huge happened in MiLL-san's life and she had to stop the project.
Haha, that was the same dub that I was also cast as Hotaru/Saturn in, and I remember really looking forward to later in the series when I got to do scenes where Hotaru gives Seiya advice and stuff. xD; Talking to myself.
I got cast as Saturn a lot, though... in like 13 different productions, or something like that. Apparently I did a really good voice for her. >^-^< I really enjoyed playing her, too, so it made me happy.
Then there was The Hope Card and Spinel Sun in a dub of the second CCS movie, which was really fun, and even got completed, but when I got my copy in the mail the sound was screwed up so it's pretty much not watchable. Too bad, too, the clips that I got online were really good, and playing those two characters was so awesome. Suppi killed my throat though, lol. XD;;
And that dub of Runaway Digimon Express I did. xD; HAHA, I played like every female character except for Renamon in that thing; Ruki was the biggest one, and she was such an awesome character to play. That dub I even got to sing in-voice in, bwahaha! That was so frigging hard, but still!
And then... the Digimon 02 dub that I played V-mon in. >>;; That's the one that put me out of VAing all together. My V-mon voice was fun and apparently really fitting, but it was incredibly hard on my throat. I got 90% of my lines in for the first episode, and then had to quit because my throat hurt so much. I've had chronic laryngitis ever since then. -__-;
I was talking with Ryuu-chan about it, though, and she says she had the same thing; she used to sing in a chior, and had to quit because she trained her voice to the point where she ended up with nodes on her vocal chords, and was told the only way to get rid of them was to just not over-exert her voice until they were gone.
So I wonder if that's what happened with me. Hmm. It sucks, too, because I had so much fun VAing. All the roles listed above and tons more, and I'd love to be able to do it again... now I'm starting to wonder, it's been long enough maybe I could give it a shot if I don't overdo it? >___>;;
Maybe I'll do some voice tests on my own and see. I'll post some clips for you guys! BWAHAHA! XDDD;;
*goes to dig out her mic*
P.S. Gingerbread Spice tea = *________*
