Last week my order from the Snughouls crowdfunding campaign came in. Basically they were doing a whole series of really cute plushies that were based on monsters and cryptids and such, which is RIGHT up my alley. I wanted like ten of them but I narrowed it down to two and ended up going with one of the wolpertingers, the green/yellow/white one, Dandy Heart. Then he came in and he's fucking adorable and SO well made. Money well spent!
The PROBLEM is that they were only taking orders from North America, and Poe really wanted one of the werewolf plushies, the one that has guts showing (Gutsy Were), which is totally Poe if you know them. So, they sent me the money to order one for them and I was supposed to send it to them when the order came in. Sure, no biggie! ...at the time. I also secretly ordered a vampire bat pin for them that just says "Bite Everything", which is also very Poe, and I was going to include it with their werewolf when the time came.
Except the time has come and... Poe isn't speaking to me. I tried emailing them a few days ago, letting them know that their werewolf plush was (finally) here and asking for their new address so I could forward it, or if they would rather I sent them their money back through paypal if they didn't want me to HAVE their new address, but... nothing. Radio Silence. So, I guess I have a werewolf plush, now, too, that will always remind me of Poe. And a pin that's much the same.
The Snughouls people did take a long time getting all the orders out, like a year and a half, and to apologize they included some extra stuff with the orders. I got a plushie-sized bandana that I was going to send to Poe along with their werewolf because it's made of cute cartoon bug patterned fabric, a tote bag made from the same cute bug fabric, and a bunch of stickers. It was very generous of them (and really unnecessary, they got everyone's orders out as fast as they could) and I wish I could share with Poe, I really do.
It's hard. Losing friends.
