Wow. Nayuki, Ayu and Makoto from Kanon having an itty-bitty ten-second cameo in episode two of AIR is amusing me far more than it should. ^^; Heheheheh...

So right now I'm attempting to write something, whilst watching an old video tape with Buffy The Vampire Slayer, The X-Files and Xena: Warrior Princess on it. Right now, we're in the middle of that Halloween Buffy episode with the itty-bitty-tiny fear demon. Look... Oz! Muaaaa... I loved Oz. ^^

It's from back around 1999/2000, I believe. ^_^; I know this because the episode of The X-Files that was on right before this was the one with Frank Black from Millennium that they did for New Years 1999. >^-^;; I think they played it in the beginning of January, though...

Heh. And the old commercials are quite entertaining as well. Taco Bell doggy! XD lol.

*is amused by pointless things*

This last week or so, Sarah hasn't been around much--someone she knows had a death in the family and had to go out of town, so she's watching the kids while they're gone. While she's out, though, I told her I'd feed the cats. So I've been looking after Fuzzy and Fritz, which is way worth not having to put up with Sarah's frigging guitar/harmonica and her knocking on my door once an hour. =_=;;

Argh. I'm bitter, I think. And because I'm feeling so bad lately, the little things that I normally find minimally irritating are really annoying now.

Anyway! The only thing I'm having trouble with when it comes to taking care of her kitties is that Fuzzy is feeling lonely and abandoned or something, so every time I go downstairs he whines and practically climbs my leg to get my attention. :P

And now for something completely different...

I got these two reviews from Mirura (who is actually on my f-list now! =^-^= *waves*) and I wanted to share them.

Senashenta,

The following review has been submitted to: Brothers At Arms Chapter: 1

From: Misura

I loved the light-hearted opening-scene of this chapter, and, from an objective point of view, the way you so smoothly made the transition from lightheartedness to alarm. (From a subjective point of view, of course, I felt a little disappointed that the good times didn't last, realistic as that may be.) It's probably a pure coincidence, but your use of 'Harlan' and 'Morgan' reminded me very strongly of Katherine Kurtz's books. (Don't worry; it's a good memory, so it'll only make me enjoy this story even more.) *skips off to read the second chapter* ^-^

Haa. I've never read anything by Katherine Kurtz. ^.^;; I guess she has characters with those names, though...

Senashenta,

The following review has been submitted to: Brothers At Arms Chapter: 2

From: Misura

Don't know if (or, heck, why) it'll mean anything to you, but I, for one, sure was squealing in delighted surprise upon finding out just how this fic tied in with the books. (Although now I find myself also kind of hoping for a cameo by Lavan, in which I may very well be disappointed. Not that your OCs aren't great fun to read about, too, of course!) You do have the typical Great Author's tendency to end your chapters on a teasing note, but considering I only dropped into this story today, I think I hardly have any right to complain. ^-^

I'm definitely planning on giving Kalira a cameo, and I was toying with the idea of giving Lavan one, too. ^^ Kalira probably in the next chapter (whenever I get around to finishing it), but I'm not sure about Lavan... I also intend to write Satiran and Pol in at least for a short scene, too. ^_~

But the whole point to talking about this is that I'm shocked at the strange number of decent reviews I've gotten for Brothers At Arms lately. O_o Jeez, up until now I've gotten pointless, squealing, fangirl-y reviews with no actual substance to them. This new trend makes me happy! ^^

Morgan: *hopeful eyes* Less angst, then?

Harlan: :Don't count on it...: ^^;;

Morgan: Yeah... =_=;;

Yaha! And! I also got this review, which wasn't all that long or special, but which made me smile anyway:

Senashenta,

The following review has been submitted to: Goodbye Chapter: 1

From: Hiro No Tsuki

Been having a full-out make-myself-cry fest over your fics. They're so beautiful...

The fact that my writing is done well enough to touch someone on an emotional level is awesome. ^^ Not that I want to make people cry, but that's about the best thing anyone could say to me; "your story made me cry." It's the compliment of compliments, and I love it every time I get a review/email to that effect.

Also, this is the first time in forever that anyone has reviewed my one-and-only ages-old Animorphs fic! ^_^; lol.
senashenta: (Chii for Christmas)
So, the email I got in regards to Summer Flame and Natsu & Remy was from Kelly ("punkirish" on FF.Net). The email itself kind of made me sigh... it really bothers me when people type i instead of I, sometimes.

so i was reading your fic Summer Flame, which i love and i got inspired; what if Nat and Remy lived; well here ya go, i've been working on this for awhile, i thought you'd like to read this, i take no credit for your characters just mine, and i am not posting it any where i thought you like to see it. its not done, clearly, i still have more to type up, and if you want to read more, ill sent it your way oh and thank you for inspiring.

kelly aka punkirish or silentmaid on fanfiction.net

(this is probably is one wierd email for you to get)

But then it went on into what she'd written, and I was like O_O;;

What if..? )

A few little grammer problems aside, it's pretty good. >^-^;;

So much better than anything I've had emailed me before (that hasn't come from [livejournal.com profile] etcetera_cat, that is...), and I was quite impressed. It's got a lot of promise, definitely. And given that its decent, I'm more than fine with her borrowing Nat and Remy. ^^

The email I sent in response:

Heyla! ^^

First off all, thanks muchly for the email. ^^ And actually, I'm not as caught off guard as you may think... I've had people email me about continuations/AUs/etc. that they wanted to write a few times in the past. Still, even though it wasn't a HUGE shock, it was a nice surprise to get in my email.

Right. So, to be perfectly honest, I wasn't sure if I wanted to read this or not... not because of you personally, but because I've had a couple of experiences in the past with people using my characters that turned out to be disasterous. I'm very picky when it comes to writing (grammar/spelling/etc.), and there have been two or three people who wrote TERRIBLY, and had kidnapped my characters for use in monstrous attempts at spin-off fanfictions. I'm also relatively protective of my OC characters, which is just a personality quirk of mine. So hopefully you can understand my reservations. ^^;;

But, since I make a point of emailing a reply to everyone who sends me fan email, I felt I needed to read what you'd written... and goodness! It was GOOD! >^-^< I'm quite impressed, actually, with your writing style and your characters. And since I felt a bit guilty about doing that to Nat and Remy in the first place, it was nice to think they might've had a second chance, if they'd landed in the hands of an author who WASN'T an angst bunny. ^_~

Thank you very much for sending this to me, and I'm glad you liked my writing enough to be inspired by it. There've been a couple of fics I've read that inspired me to write, and I know how nice it is when that happens. ^^ I also wanted to say that if you want, I have no problem with you posting this at FF.Net. Feel free. (That way I can keep track of it while you keep writing...)

Also, would you be terribly averse to letting me post it in my Livejournal? I'd like to share it with etcetera-cat, Kierseth and Cat McDougall (three of my good writer-friends), if you don't mind. Let me know about that.

Thanks again (for the writing and for putting up with my rambling response...)

Senashenta ;)

Then I got a short little email from Shan, in regards to Dance in the Shadows, which is one of my Sailormoon Stars fics.

Senashenta-san! I loved your S/U fanfics! Especially "Umbroso Estrella". I hope you're going to finish the sequel, "Dance in the Shadows". You're a great writer!

-Shan

Short and sweet. Most of the emails I get from people go along these lines, so nothing really special... except that (even in such a short email), this person seems to have a good grasp of the English language. *glee* ^^

Yeah, I really need to work on that fic again... ^^;;

Fanmail always makes me happy. >^-^

Two fan-emails in one day! >^-^;; One for Dance in the Shadows, and one for Summer Flame!

I'll post them later for anyone who might be interested.

EDIT: Also, Ruin | Ressurection by Liquid-Goddess-Reformation has me kind of intrigued. Sometimes I do find something relatively worthwhile in the pits.
senashenta: (Default)
Okay... so it was actually my turn to write the chapter, but I asked Fireblade to write this one because when it came time for it to be written, my computer was dead. ^_^;; So she finished Chapter Seven (First Lesson) of Come The Dawn, which means it's my turn again!

Keir: *digging around for his stick*

O_O;; I'll be good and write it this time, really! No need for your stick!

Sterling: :*snigger*:

And oh my God! *giggles and bounces* Look! I got Fan-email!

Italics is the letter and Normal Text is what I plan to say in response when I email her back. *squees and bounces more* Fanmail always gives me endless glee! XD

Senashenta,

I really adore all of your stories, although I tend to not leave reviews... (sorry!) I find everything you write amazingly well done, with a smooth flow and a lovely style. Recently I've been going back through what I've archived,
rereading some of your works, and decided I should tell you that I like your stories. And ask a small favor, but mostly just to say I like your work.

Aww... thank you so much! *huggles* I'm so glad you like my writing. ^^ I write for myself, just because I enjoy it, and normally I don't even care if other people read it... but it's always nice to hear that someone else enjoyed it anyway. >^-^<

*giggles* Maa... you do the same thing I do, then! Save all your favorite fics just in case the unthinkable happens and the site(s) you found them on go belly-up! ^^

I'd like to borrow your idea, and maybe style, you used in 'Mirrors'. The idea of meeting an alternate version of yourself in the Dreamplane, rather than being sent to a different dimension and meeting yourself, appeals to me a great deal. I've found myself stuck with a rather large case of writers block on my main story, and feel that emulating one of my favorite authors styles might give me some inspiration. (The story being 'A demons kindness' in the Naruto anime category, just for reference, and, proof of myself? I guess..)

Well... as the idea of meeting yourself in Dreamtime is far from an original one, I have no problem if you use it for your fic. ^^ Besides which, I know the horrors of Writer's Block myself, and if I can be of assistance in lending you the concept behind Mirrors, I'm more than happy to do so! ^_~

Well, I don't know if you read or write anything Naruto related, and wantedto ask permission before I tried posting something based on your work. (I haven't written anything along those lines yet, but I will, but I'll only post if you say I can.) So... that's all i had to ask...

*sighs* Sadly, I haven't gotten into the Naruto fandom any... mostly because I haven't seen any of it. ^_^;; It's one that I'm pretty curious about, though, I'll admit...

And yes, you have my permission to write/post whatever you want that's based on the idea behind Mirrors. ^^ Send me the link when it's up, though, so I can take a peek and see what you came up with! *is nosy and knows it and doesn't care if everyone else knows it too* lol.

Oh, except, is Eien no Yume ni Mukatte finished, or is there more? Ren might not be your character, but I like how well you write about him and your Yuki-chan hehehe =)

*giggles more* YAY! Someone else read Eien! XD

Yes, Eien is finished... it was just supposed to be a little mini-fic anyway. ^^;;; (Originally it was a one-shot, but it just kinda... grew. O_o;;) But! My good friend Cassandra Sisenta (Ren's creator/owner/whatever) is writing a companion-fic to Eien, which is called "Knocking On Tomorrow's Door", and basically follows the same couple of days, but from Ren's POV. >^-^< Check it out if you want, ne!

And thank you soooo much for the lovely compliments! Your email just made my day! ^^

--CrystalinElf

Yup.

Fanmail rocks my socks. ^__^

And I have a job interview today--wish me luck! I might be able to get the hell out of my current hellhole of a job!
