Because I'm too amused by this to wait until he's finished, here's a peek at Grissom!pony. XD

I just started working on him tonight, so there's not much done, but I've finished all the clay work for his hair/beard/eyebrows, and about half of the detailing on his tail (which you can't really see in this picture, but whatever). ARGH if I never do curly-hair-detailing with a toothpick again, I'll be happy. Unfortunately, I have about six more Grissom ponies to do before I'm through with it, so... ^_^;; Yeah.

So, ignoring the colors/lack thereof, and just looking at the hair and stuff, what do you think? I'm pretty proud of how it turned out, myself. =3 I wish you could see the detailing better in this pic, though... hmmm...

Also! As I'm not hugely familiar with the CSI: New York characters, and plan to do a Mac Taylor pony soon (my next CSI pony is going to be Horatio from Miami, which is actually going to be made out of the one in the background of this pic), so I need to decide on a symbol for him. Any ideas? What kind of a symbol says "Mac Taylor" to you?

Grissom's is a beetle (as per [link]), and Horatio's is going to be sunglasses. =3

I've loved that CSP artwork for ages, and I love even more that you're actually making them! Grissom's looking great so far and I can't wait to see Horatio, he's my favourite CSI ^_^

....And now you've got me wondering about making a set of Due South themed ponies.....

Yeah, that's been the sum of my thoughts at college so far today - do I want to do a simple Fraser pony with a symbol on his bum, or get some supersculpy off Ebay (don't have it over here, but its seems to be good stuff) and make him a uniform, complete with little sexy mountie boots......

Sculpy is pretty awesome stuff, since it won't dry out until you bake it, so you can fiddle as long as you want to get things right. ^^ And I think I'd probably go for making him a uniform. ^_~

I've been meaning to get some for ages so I can make Caradoc (http://lipstickcat.livejournal.com/128237.html#cutid1) a better set of ears.... Can I bake it on the ponies? If so, I assume before I rehair them.....

Ponies do rather well in the oven, yes. Grissom!pony kinda smells like french fries right now, actually. I normally try to do the clay baking before rehairing, but I know some people rehair and then bake... but I've been told that can make the hair crimp/crinkle/shrink/etc., depending on what kind of hair it is, and I choose not to find out. ^^;
