Incredible

Worrying about Tohma-chan aside and being lonely and annoyed at my brother yesterday, I've had a busy couple of days...
First of all, I've been dealing with appealing the decision on my UI claim the last week or so. I got a new note from my Doctor that details my problems and went down to the UI office a couple of days ago to hand it in and explain the problems I've had with my entire claim in general since way back in December when I filed it...
Yesterday, I got two letters from them; the first said "we have reviewed the decision that was made on your claim, and have decided to accept it" and the other was three cheques to cover the entire time that they stiffed me. One was for $834 and the other two were each for $278, so $1390 all together. Awesome.
So I hopped down to the bank to deposit them. I feel so much better now that I have some money in the bank... should last me two or three months, plus I've still got my tax money coming in as well. Whew.
On my way home from the bank, I stopped at a home store downtown to buy a present for my Mom. She's been helping me out so much the last few months, and has just been so supportive that I wanted to get her something to say thank you... not that anything could possibly express how much I appreciate her being there for me, but you know...
Anyway, for about three years she's been asking for new/decent mixing bowls for Christmas, and everyone keeps forgetting about them when it comes time to buy her gifts. So I went into this cute little kitchen/home store and bought her a really good set of bowls. They're stainless steel, dishwasher safe, and come with lids (it's hard to find mixing bowls with lids anymore). I mean, mixing bowls wouldn't seem like a huge thing to buy as a gift, but she was really really happy with them, so it makes me happy, too. ^^
And not that I can afford to buy too much stuff, since I'm still on a budget, but I decided I want to spend some money on myself, too. Since halfway through December, the only things I've bought for me were a copy of Alta and some Chinese food... oh, and I guess some cheap used DVDs last week.
So I bought myself one of these (and can't wait until it comes in! =3) and then a copy of The Incredibles. >^-^;; I also figure I'll probably end up picking up some more cheap movies from 'Round Again Records, maybe tomorrow or the next day. *addicted to movies*
Okay. The Incredibles is an awesome movie. I'm very glad I picked it up... I was kind of debating between it and a couple of others, and I definitely made the right decision. It made me giggle and laugh a lot. ^^
Then today, lo and behold, Trunks shows up at my door! =O
He tinkered with my computer and checked his email, and we talked for a bit, then I subjected him to the first two episodes of Fullmetal Alchemist, though I guess "subjected" isn't a good word because he loved it. He's coming back tomorrow, so that we can watch a couple more together. XD
The thing to know about when my brother and I sit to watch movies/TV shows/whatever together is that we chat while we watch. About lots of misc. stuff. In this case, we talked a lot about the logistics and science behind alchemy, which was interesting... and hard at the same time, since I was trying not to say anything that would give away the whole FMA series. ^^;
Then he told me he had to leave... because he had to go home and tape Passions. O_o; I laughed at him a lot for that. ^_^;; Then I told him I was just going to pretend I hadn't heard it. Though when he told me Alasse got him into watching Passions the first thing I thought of was Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. ^.^;;
Now I'm poking around with my writing, but not really getting anywhere because I'm fretting over Tohma-mousie at the same time. ;__;
...at least it's not raining anymore. It was pouring all morning, and I had to abandon Cassandra-san because of it. The power kept flickering and I was afraid my computer would get fried. Blegh. It stopped raining around noon, but now it's still pretty gloomy out.
Oh well...
