The Typical Monday Antics
Mar. 20th, 2006 08:42 pmMondays are always busy for me... pretty much because it's the only weekday that Mom has off of work, so anything the two of us need/want to do together has to be done then. ^^; Which means, among other things, that we have to have appointments with the Chiropractor on Mondays all the time, and that's an hour drive to Bracebridge...
Right! So, back to the beginning!
Last night I couldn't sleep. Again. -_-;; I woke up at 2:30 or so, and ended up staying up watching I Shouldn't Be Alive for a couple of hours before trying to get to sleep again. No such luck. As a result, I'm very tired today (which means I'm kind of sick to my stomach and have a headache, too), but I'm surviving.
Then Mom picked me up at around 10:00 and we headed north for our appointment. That took about forty-five minutes, after which we piled in the car and drove back again.
When we got into town again, we went to Walmart for a few minutes. I needed decongestants (stupid nose!), and a couple of bottles of paint for working on ponies. I also got some corn cobs for the critters. I was supposed to get some timothy hay for the bunnies there, too, but they didn't have any, so we ended up having to make a quick stop at the pet store (about ten feet from Walmart, so it was no big deal, lol) for it.
They still have a couple of the pretty spotted dwarf bunnies that I think are so cute... if I had the money I would totally have bought one. >^-^;; *is so weak when it comes to animals it's rediculous* Ahahaha...
After that, we had to drop the car off at the mechanics' to get a tire fixed and an oil changed; the front right tire has been leaking air for about a week or so, and was just steadily getting worse. It's good that it's been fixed. One less thing for Mom to worry about, I guess. :)
While we were waiting on the car, we walked down to the main street (I actually have a touch of a sunburn from it) and picked up some prescriptions at the pharmacy, then we went to the dollar store so I could get some various things. Hair curlers for ponies, straws, strainers, necklace chording, etc. Just odds and ends that I've been meaning to pick up lately and never got around to it.
THEN. When we got back to pick the car up, we scooted off to the mall! Where I got a HELLUVA surprise!
As in; OH MY FSCKING GOD, WE HAVE A JAPANESE RESTAURANT NOW?? =^.^= I was so happy about this. I've wanted a Japanese restaurant here for years, but I never actually thought we'd get one! So then, even though I wasn't super hungry, I had to get something to eat to see if their food was any good. X3
I got chicken teriyaki with vegetables and sticky rice, and it was awesome. AWESOME. *drools* They cooked it fresh on the grill in front of us, and it was the best teriyaki I've ever had. ^_^
Now I need to think of excuses to go to the mall more often...
After eating (and sharing with Mom, since my food cost $4.99 and was twice as much as I could normally eat-- so worth the money, too!), we went down to the other end of the mall so I could get some pillow cases at Zellers. While we were there I went to poke through the MLPs (as usual), and they has some of the 2006 Crystal Princess line, so I was pretty happy...
Starting this year, the ponies heads can turn, and I was wondering how that would affect customizing-- I mentioned that to Mom, and she bought me three ponies (the 2006 Easter Basket with Lavendar Cloud, Berries n' Cherries and Spring Carnivale, I <3 my Mom!) to tinker with. From what I can tell, the change is no big deal. It'll probably make things easier, actually, since now I won't have to cut through a glue seal to get the heads off. Awesome. ^^
Anyway, after food, pillow cases, and ponies, we headed across the parking lot to Staples, and after much talking with a helpful tech guy, finally bought herself a new computer. It's awesome, actually. WAY better than mine. I offered to trade her, but she said no. :P lol.
Then I (finally) came home, after helping Mom get her computer loaded in the car, and then back out and into her place.
Aaaah, such a long day...
As a final note, of all the movies Dad brought me, I've watched Hammerhead, Pterodactyl and Dinocroc. Of those three, Dinocroc was my favorite. YAY B-GRADE MOVIES. I've started watching Dark Wolf, too, but I haven't gotten very far... still! When a movie starts with a Werewolf in a strip club, you know it's going to be entertaining! XD
