My Dream House

If I was to win the lottery literally all I would want to do is buy a house with a yard that is close to amenities and the bus route (since I don't drive) and maybe donate some money to the local cat shelter and adopt a couple of cats from them. And also go on a trip to Japan with my Dad. And send my Mom and Stepdad somewhere nice. Just nice things all around for my family.
But the HOUSE.
Four bedrooms, two bathrooms (one upstairs and one in the basement), finished basement, sun room off the living room, living room with lots of wall space, large kitchen, preferably a finished attic for storage (but that's not a deal breaker), actual front porch that I can put some chairs and a little table on and maybe some bird feeders, front yard of indiscriminate size (the front yard doesn't matter to me as much), large fenced-in backyard, pool (in-ground or above, doesn't matter) and nice back deck.
I literally couldn't do any of the main yard work myself because of my back but hey, I won the lottery, I can afford to pay people to come mow my lawn and trim my trees and fix my fences and maintain my pool when that stuff needs done.
Bedroom #1: My bedroom. HUGE bed, like just ENORMOUS to fit me and all my cats and all my pillows and blankets. Dresser with my clothes and a tank on top for my turtle. Shelves for my dolls and other knickknacks. Not really a ton of furniture in this room because the bed takes up so much space. Walls probably COVERED in bulletin boards for my writing.
Bedroom #2: Guest bedroom. Queen sized bed, side table with a lamp and clock. Little dresser with a TV that has cable. A couple of pieces of artwork on the wall. Trying to keep things "normal" in here for when guests stay over.
Bedroom #3: Library. Just shelves upon shelves upon shelves of books. More knickknacks on the bookshelves. A desk in the middle of the room with a lamp and a case full of pencils and pens on it, and my laptop (my laptop moves around though, obviously.) A chair to go with the desk. A comfy chair in one corner for reading with a little table next to it for tea. My zen writing/reading space. Probably no art on the walls because they're all covered in shelves.
Bedroom #4: Arts/Crafts room. A long, beat-up dresser along one wall that holds some of my craft supplies in it's weathered drawers. A large aquarium on top housing my axolotl. Lots of shelves for the rest of my art/craft stuff. Totally organized for the first time in my life, now that I have the space. A big work table in the centre of the room, probably covered in nicks and paint and other damage. A couple of chairs around the table. Some of my weird artwork on the walls where it fits.
Upstairs Bathroom: Claw-foot tub. 'Nuff said.
Kitchen: Large with modern appliances and preferably a gas stove. Lots of cupboard space. A centre island. A double sink. Nothing really special or unique about it except the knickknacks on the windowsill.
Living Room: One whole wall with just shelves of DVDs and Blu-Ray, HUNDREDS of DVDs and Blu-Ray. A nice TV, also set up with cable. A large, comfy couch to sprawl on and watch movies. A coffee table. End tables on either side of the couch. A chair by the corner of the couch, sitting diagonal to it. An aquarium with goldfish on one wall. Everything in shades of green, black and white.
Sun Room: Heated. Plants EVERYWHERE. Also two bird cages, this is where the budgies live. It is also where the rat cage is. A couple of wicker rocking chairs and a table in one corner, otherwise just greenery. The cats aren't allowed in this room because some of the plants are toxic to them.
Basement: Finished with a complete bathroom (no clawfoot tub, just a shower.) Secondary living room down there with a pull-out couch in case of extra guests. A couple of comfy chairs and a TV, also with cable. Second fridge for spillover on the holidays. Chest freezer. Cable for everyone. Laundry room with a stacking washer/dryer. The cat litter boxes live in the laundry room.
Back Yard: Big and sprawling, preferably with no trees, or, just one in the back corner. Lots of places to plant vegetables and flowers in the summer. Large deck; pool off the deck, not huge but big enough. Fenced in for privacy and to keep the dog from getting out on the off chance I decide to adopt one.
And that's the basics! The attic is just an attic and only used for storage, Christmas decorations and that kind of thing. Nothing special there.
But like. I would DEFINITELY have to win the lottery. So who am I even kidding with this anyway? I guess it's nice to dream sometimes, though.
