Writing Blah Blah Blah

senashentaI used to write a lot of fanfiction, it was my escape, and I really miss it right now. Over the last two years I've been working on original stuff and my fics have gone by the wayside mostly, though I'm still tinkering with projects on-and-off in my head, like Heart. Poe was helping cheerlead me through an original novel, but apparently it was "frustrating" to watch me work on TKA because I guess I wasn't writing it as fast as they thought I should have been, or working on it as diligently.
But the thing is, I was actually getting LOADS done, just in bits-and-pieces and while I was working on TKA I was also working on an ever-expanding TKA universe that ended up being 10 books long and obviously had tons of characters. I literally CANNOT focus on just one thing at a time, my brain is a basket of cats always on the lookout for yarn and it runs away with itself every time I try to write something more than about ten pages in length. But I was GETTING THERE. Poe just didn't understand that.
Anyway, before I got started on TKA I was in The Witcher fandom briefly (about a year) and in that time I wrote I think 43?? fics for it, some long and some short. The best one, in my opinion, is Being Roach, a Valdemar crossover where it turns out that Geralt's horse, Roach, is actually a VERY well-travelled Companion in disguise. It had Rolan cameos and was Geraskier because that's my ship for that fandom. Juuuuust post-S1 so Ciri was just a kid still. (I planned to write a companion-fic/sequel where the gang travelled from the Continent to Valdemar but never got around to it because of TKA. Maybe now I'll make the time.)
I also have a SPN/Witcher universe crossover that I was writing in that was lots of fun. Aiden was a demon. Jaskier was an angel (his vessel's name was Julian, obviously), the Witchers were, well, WITCHERS, which are this universe's version of Hunters. Though I suppose human Hunters probably exist as well? idk I never got into that. But I'd like to write more in that AU/crossover in the future...
Obviously I still tinker with Heralds of Valdemar stuff like Heart, and a while back I wrote one called Inside Out that was about a trans boy being Chosen and thought it was good enough to send to Mercedes Lackey, so I sent it in along with all the required paperwork and waivers. I haven't heard back, but it was worth a try. The only frustrating part is that now I can't post it anywhere because of all the stuff I signed. Boo.
Mostly right now I'm working on the worldbuilding for another original novel, My Zombie, and it's going really well. Plotting out my own version of the Apocalypse and Post-Apocalypse has been fun. I SHOULD be working on TKA still but I did so much worldbuilding and character development with Poe that it HURTS to work on TKA right now. Hence me taking a break and writing My Zombie instead.
Also, I'm working on what I'm hoping is going to be something less gruelling; MOA, which is basically me writing the novel version of a B-Grade Movie. Dedicating it to my Dad, obviously. lol.
