R.I.P. Jessie 2010-2025

This morning she came into my room right about the time I was planning to go downstairs and say goodbye to her. It's like she knew. She hopped up on my bed and let me pet her belly, which is normally absolutely FORBIDDEN. I told her she was going to a place where she wouldn't hurt anymore, where she would always be warm and have her favorite foods and sunny spots to sleep. I told her she would see Possom again. I asked her to tell him I said hi, and if she saw any of my cats to tell THEM I said hi, too. I gave her all the scritches and pets that she wanted. I got her a little bit of custard from the fridge downstairs because it's her favorite. I told her crossing the Rainbow Bridge would be easy, even though the vet is usually scary. This time would be okay. She would just go to sleep, and then she'd be in the Happy Place. I told her I was sorry this last week was so hard and so cold because of the ice storm, but we did our best for her. We always did our best for her. I told her I loved her. And then after twenty minutes when she got down off my bed to go downstairs again, I told her goodbye for the last time.

R.I.P. Jessie-belle, you certainly deserve it.
