From The Grape Vine
Feb. 27th, 2008 06:33 pmI'm at Grandma's right now! Because I had an appointment with the nutritionist that Grandma's got me seeing, and she's taking me home tomorrow. She actually picked me up yesterday afternoon, so I'm spending two nights without AIM homg I'm about to die of withdrawl! at her place.
Last night I didn't do much, but I watched a lot of Animal Planet to get a fix since I don't get that channel at home. lol. Then this morning my appointment was at 10:30, and it lasted half an hour. I told him the stuff he gave me last time wasn't doing anything, and he countered by giving me more pills to take. Blegh. Naturopathy is a pain.
He's also told me he wants me to go off the Pariet that I'm on for my acid reflux, and I'm not really happy with the idea. I told Grandma originally that I was willing to go see the guy as long as he didn't try to mess with my prescribed medications. Grandma's upset that I'm not pleased, but I mean... he's not a doctor, and while I don't mind taking suppliments and whatnot, he shouldn't be mucking about with what my actual doctor has prescribed for me.
When I go in to see my family doctor at the end of the month, I'm going to talk to her about it and see what she says, but for the time being I don't think I'm going to start trying to stop my medications without doctor's permission. I mean honestly.
Anyway, that aside, we did some grocery shopping while we were in Huntsville, and went to the dollar store where I got a whole bunch of feather butterflies to use in crafts. After that we went to the health food store to get almond milk, since I'm "not allowed" to have actual milk anymore and the rice milk made me gag. It's okay. I guess I can use it for cereal and stuff if I have to.
While we were in the mall that the A&P is in, we looked through Northern Reflections since they were having a big sale and Grandma got a bunch of clothes for like 70% off, which was awesome (but boring for me, standing around waiting for her). At Zellers we had lunch in the restaurant there, and then when we were looking around I found a stuffed rabbit in the Easter section that looks just like Pauper (a Dutch, but with brown eyes instead of blue), and had to get him. <3 I named him Prince, to go with Pauper. He's even about her size.
Tomorrow I'm heading home in the afternoon, with tons of groceries and 12 freaking 2-gallon jugs of water in tow; I can't drink the tap water at home because the pipes are rusted and it tastes like copper, so I normally buy bottled water for drinking, but Grandma was having NONE of that, so she's cleaned out a bunch of empty jugs for me to fill up with well water before I go. She has good water, so I'm fine with it. Though taking all the trips up the stairs when we get back to my place is going to suck. -.-;
