senashenta: (Save Me)
When I was five or six years old, I had a set of little kids books, about various fantasy creatures... or not. There was one about a puppy, too. ^^ lol. I don't have them anymore, because when I was eight or so, I gave them to a couple of younger boys from a family that was hard-off. Honestly, now I kind of wish I hadn't, because they were so cute... isn't that selfish? I feel bad just for the thought. ;-; But it was a good thing to do, even though I'm more childish now than I was then...

Anyway, one of the stories was about a unicorn; she lived in the world of dreams, along with all the other generically "magical" creatures, but the world of dreams was slowly disappearing as children around the world stopped dreaming about magical things. So she went to the field where dreams were born/grown, and gathered up all the dream crystals/gems. She attached them to herself, and carried them to the real world, where she travelled around placing them under the pillows of sleeping children, so that they would dream her world and friends back into existence. ^^

It was generally a cute story, and for some reason I was thinking about it earlier...

Hence, Rememberance. She's named on two levels, based on the kids in the story remembering the magic they had forgotten, and also on the fact that she's taken from a memory from my own childhood.

The unicorn in the story was white (of course), and I believe the crystals were very faintly off-white-purplish-silver. But it was so long ago, I'm just guessing on that. But Rememberance is a different vision. Yay for creative liberties. =3

Remember To Dream )

She's my first G3 unicorn, and while I'm relatively pleased with how the (sculpey) horn came out, I'd probably tweak it a bit if I was redoing it. Oh well. It's close enough. ^^ Next time I might attempt to make a spiral horn, instead of a straight one, though. After it was baked, set, and glued in place, it was painted with metallic white and pale pink acrylics.

Rememberance is made from a G3 Lulabelle... I think. ^_^;; I got her in a lot of bait ponies off ebay, so I didn't know her name at the time. She was a spring basket pony, anyway. I used acetone to remove her symbols (thank you [livejournal.com profile] papercut917), but she stayed white. It's the first time I've managed to remove the symbols on a white pony cleanly enough that I didn't have to repaint her. >^-^;;

Uhm... her hair is Plum Crazy and Tickled Pink katsilk from restoredoll.com. She doesn't have a real symbol, but she's covered in little purple gems, with a few somewhat larger, light pink ones as well. Her eyes are the blue-green and pink that came on the pony, but the more I look at her the more I think I'll probably repaint them...

Yep. ^_^

And I'm just using this icon because it's new and I want to. :P lol.

EDIT: And she has a WHITE RIBBON in her TAIL. *nods*

EDIT #2: Yeah, I ended up redoing her eyes. Now they look much better. )

Yeah. I couldn't sleep tonight, and I got the urge to do ponies... so I did ponies. ^_^ Two of them! From start to finish! Go me!

After Rememberance, I did this one, which wasn't even close to as complex as she was. So it only took me about an hour and a half to do her...

Patriot Love )

Patriot Love was made from a G3 Bowtie pony... I got her new a couple of months ago when Zellers was clearing out the 2005 ponies to make room for the 2006 ones. Or was it Walmart? I can't remember. ^^; Anyway, even though I got her new, she's got a faint band of discoloration across her face, and then down the side of her cheek-- but you can't even see it in the photos, it's so light, so I didn't worry about it.

So, she was cleaned, dehaired, and her symbol/heart were removed. I rehaired her with Caddy Red katsilk from restoredoll.com. Her symbol and her eyes were done/colored with a red sharpie marker... because I can't draw maple leaves very well, and I didn't trust my hand to do a decent job of it with a paintbrush. :P lol.

Her hoof heart was replaced with a red gem; there are also single red gems in the middle of the bows on her tail and around her neck. I left the ribbon trailing long like that just because I liked it. ^^

There you go. Patriot Love.

I plan to do a USA one too, eventually...

UGH. I feel sick. I've been feeling sick all night... that's why I couldn't sleep. But at least I was sort of productive through it... >^-^;;

Oi...

For anyone who may be interested, the Blade TV series is supposed to start tonight, at 10:00 ET on Spike TV. I don't know what actual channel number that is (I have to locate it), but it'll be different for everyone depending on where they live, anyway...
