Bath Time

I took the rat cage downstairs and washed it out today, and my ratties came with me. >^-^;;






Left to right: Kori, 'Nashi and Yuki. <3


All three of them again. 'Nashi and Kori like baths, but Yuki doesn't particularly. ^^; He kept making desperate leaps, trying to jump out of the tub, but it was too tall for him...


So instead, he tried to climb the shower to get out.


...and I guess it looked like fun, because 'Nashi and Kori felt the need to waddle over and join in. ^_^;

Another one of Kori. he kept trying to poke his nose down into the drain, and I was like "you won't fit, and you don't wanna be down there anyway..." ^^;;

So cuuuuute! I love rats. Ar they hard and/or expensive to take care of? Not that my parents would let me get one with eight cats and two dogs anyway, but I might sometime. ^^;

It's pretty much the same as taking care of a hamster. You just have to clean the cage out regularly and give them food and water. The rest of it kind of depends on the rats. ^^ Mine like baths once in a while, playing in empty kleenex boxes, and chewing on rawhide sticks.

The only big difference between them and hamsters/gerbils/whatever is that they're really smart, so you have to give them toys and stuff to keep them entertained. They kind of remind me of dogs, actually. You can apparently teach them tricks really easily, but I never got around to doing it with mine. ^^;

Hee! I love soggy rats with their spikey fur ^_^ I should take my babies for there first bath sometime soon, see what they think of it. Looking at Yuki trying to escape reminds me of Druscilla, she was a champion jumper and when she'd had enough of the nasty water she could jump vertically and land on the edge of the tub!
