MLP Custom: Ed!
Lookit Ed!pony! XD

Ed used to be a Sunny Daze pony. So first thing's first, I decappitated her. ^_^ Then I painted her body black.

Next, I painted his left hoof white (that's his "glove" hoof), and his right hoof silver (his "automail" hoof). There's actually a tiny screw painted on his right hoof, but it doesn't seem to show up in photograps. O_o; Hm. Also, the bottom of his back hooves are painted red (since Ed has red treads on his boots!)

After that, I painted Ed's head: first, three layers of "flesh" color, then his collar (in black and white), and his eyes. I also moulded teeth for him out of DAS clay, painted them white, and glued them in. ^^

A pic of Ed after I was (almost) finished painting him, while his head was still unattached.

I gave him his tail, and half-attached his head to take a couple of pictures. Look at him grin! XD

A kind of fuzzy closeup of his collar, which I added a silver clasp to.

Then, once my rehairing tool came in, I set about giving him his mane! This rehairing tool is AWESOME. I tried rehairing Union Bell by hand with needles, and had to quit because I got so many blisters. With his tool, I did all of Ed's mane in about an hour, with no blisters at all! ^__^ His head had to come off for the rehairing, obviously.

Ed looks happy that he's not bald anymore. >^-^;; His hair is "taxi yellow" katsilk hair from restoredoll.com.

I re-attached his head again. Inside, there was white glue to hold his new hair in-- I had to wait for a few hours to make sure it was dry before I did anything with it.

With the glue dry, I gave him his trademark braid, and worked his bangs out as well. I actually ended up having to glue it down with a dab of white glue, because it insisted on standing straight out from his head. :P He also doesn't have the crazy antennae, either, because I couldn't figure out how to do it. ^_^;;

Finished!

I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to give him a symbol or not...

A front-angle pic.

From the back end.

His other side...

And the last one. ^__^ I'm considering making him a little coat, since I have some red material around here... in which case I'll take a couple more pictures. But for now, he's done!
I am so hugely pleased with how Ed came out! =3 RAWK ON.
