Baked cupcakes tonight. Starting at 11:30pm. JUST BECAUSE I WANTED TO. XD;;

Anyway, they're confetti cupcakes with white icing and I decorated them with Halloween decorations; orange and black sprinkes, tiny black and white candy skulls and slightly larger candy bones. The bones are white with splotches of red "blood".

idk I just felt like it, even though I can't eat many cupcakes anymore. *shrug* Like with most things I bake nowadays, probably 3/4 of them will go to Mom, Lee and my bro. I'd share with other people, too, but I pretty much don't know anyone else in Orillia anymore. It's a sad state of affairs, really. ~_~;;

Other than baking, I guess the news is Squall and the cats.

My spiffy laptop, Squall, is being a dick again. He won't load windows at all, and the startup diagnostics have literally been running for over 48 hours now. =__=;; In the morning if nothing's changed I'm going to just turn him off. Hopefully MDG will get back to me about having him repaired, since he's still under warranty until the end of November.

So for now I'm back to using my netbook, Z, which means I'm not going through Internet Withdrawl. No, instead I'm going through EVERYTHING ELSE withdrawl, since all my writing. music and bookmarks are on Squall. There is literally nothing on Z's HD since I cleared it out about 8 months ago. -.-;;

I'll have to hook Gale (my external drive) up and transfer some stuff from there, I guess.

In the meantime I've been mainlining two things the last few days; Mantracker and Tokyo Mew Mew. Yes, I am aware that this is about the weirdest combination I could have chosen. XD; Whatever, I'm enjoying them both so :P. I'm watching all the eps of Mantracker that I haven't seen, which is like 3/4 of them, and I'm working my way through TMM since for some reason, even though I have the whole series, I never watched past about episode 20. Must've got sidetracked and forgotten...

As for the cats, Nio has passed his cold on to EVERYONE EXCEPT NEKO AND LILY. *EPIC HEADDESK [HERE]*

Oh, and the other big news is that one of my close friends from highschool had her first baby! She's shared pics of the new little girl, and she's sooooo cute! CONGRATS, P! ♥♥♥♥♥

...this is the closest thing to a baking icon that I have. WHYYYYY?

Squall has been acting up the last couple of days. Not sure what's wrong, I've run diagnostics/antivirus/disc cleanup/defragmenter and everything is telling me there's no problem, but he's running slowly and earlier today I tried to turn him on and he wouldn't load the first time 'round. Might have to send him in to be checked out. =/

Other than that things today went pretty well.

Today was the day that Dion was scheduled to be neutered and Tia went in for exploratory surgery because of the whole Hi I'm Tia And I've Been Spayed But Am Still Going Into Heat Anyway MEOW thing. We had to be in Barrie to drop them off at 8am, which meant leaving here at 7:15am, which meant getting up at 6am. ~_~; But it needed to be done, so whatever.

We dropped them off without any problems and then went to the Sunset Grill for breakfast, where I got a greek omelet with hashbrowns and sausage and then proceeded to feel sick from it. So I brought it home to have tomorrow for lunch (hopefully). Mom has waffles with fruit salad and whipped cream and it looked AMAZING.

After that we came back home for a couple of hours before heading back to Barrie again. We went to Michael's so I could get the things I needed for doing the jewelry for the wedding next month. Then when I got home I realized I'd forgotten gold eyepins and the pedant I picked out is in silver instead of gold DURR SENA YOU'RE AN IDIOT. *facepalm*

We have to go back to Barrie in two weeks anyway so I can get the missing things then.

Wow, though. It's the first time I've bought actual gold components (14k) and it cost SO MUCH. ;A; I was putting everything on the counter to be rang up and GAH I didn't even want to know. It cost like $120 for everything because I had the 14k gold, some sterling silver and two strands of actual freshwater pearls. Also, the pendant that was silver instead of gold is pink cubic zirconia. SO EXPENSIVE ASDGH. But I'm still kinna excited to work with it anyway. :3

Anyhoo~

After that we went next door to the huge pet store to look at the cute animals and Mom almost bought a cat from the adoption center. XD;; She was this little cream coloured cutie with grey tabby markings on her face and from her feet to her knees on all four feet. She was really, really pretty. But Lee would have murdered us if we'd come home with another cat. xD; Ah well. She's so lovely I'm sure she'll be adopted really fast. ♥

Then we went to the dollar store because I needed AAA batteries.

After that we went to Walmart, where I got a drink at the McD's there and also bought two happy meal toys because they currently have LPS. *geek* I also bought an LPS monkey from the toy section. We originally went in to find an outfit for me for the wedding, but nothing really jumped out at me. I did get a black shirt for f!Kyo cosplay this summer, though.

That done, we drove across town to Bayfield Mall. :D

We poked around a few stores there and managed to find me a really nice outfit (beige dress slacks and an aquamarine button-down shirt that is really pretty!), though I still need to get some shoes that will match, since my black ones don't go with it very well.

With that all done we went into a couple more stores. One of them is this really awesome curio/collectible shop called Green Earth. I always love pretty much everything they have. This time though, we were about to go inside and in the display window was this stone statue of a cat, sleeping with wings on it's back.

And I stood there for a couple minutes trying really, really hard not to cry. Mom kind of gave me a little one-armed hug and dragged me in to look at shiny things to distract me. All I could think of was buying that statue to put at the top of Tri's grave when I bury him in a month or two.

Speaking of, I've decided on wrapping up a few of his favourite things to bury with him when the time comes; a packet of soft fish catfood, a yogurt cup since he was a yogurt fiend, a catnip pouch and his laser light toy. Maybe other things, but that's what I've decided on so far. I know it sounds stupid, but it makes me feel a bit better about burying him. It's going to be so hard for me to do when the time comes...

Anyway. After that store we stopped at the cafeteria to pick up Taco Bell burritos for my brother, as per his request, since he ♥'s Taco Bell and the one here closed like fifteen years ago. >>;;

Then we had to go pick Dion and Tia up! Everything went fine (which I assumed was the case since they didn't call me at all during the day) and the two of them were sleepy, groggy and pretty much high as a kite on painkillers.

Unfortunately, despite the exploratory surgery, they didn't find anything; no tissue that they missed, and no ectopic tissue either. So they think there's a chance that Tia was going into heat as a response to Dion transitioning from kitten to male cat and therefore starting to reek of testosterone. Now that he's fixed there's a chance she won't go into heat anymore.

Then again, ectopic tissue can be microscopic, in which case even if it's there they would have no way to find it. So I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Tia has to go back in in two weeks because they had to use staples to close her up this time (the incision site this time is 3x the size of the first one), so we have to bring her in to have them removed. That's no big deal though, and it'll only take 20 minutes or so. (And that gives me a chance to go back to Michael's for the stuff I forgot, too.)

So groggy kittens went into carriers and into the car, and then Mom took me to the awesomesauce aquarium store so I could poke around a bit and pick up a couple more catfish for my tank. I also got two emerald green tiger barbs. I asked for three and paid for three, but when I got home and was setting them up in the tank I realized they only gave me two. By then it was too late though. Oh well.

Then we came home. 8D;;

Dion and Tia have just spent a lot of time sleeping, obviously. They're not feeling too bad, though, and had good appetites when I fed them earlier. So it's all good. Another day or so and Dion can go back into the basement with the other boys, but Tia needs to stay in my room for at least a week before rejoining the pride.

So basically, today was super busy and tiring but I got a lot done.

Also? I'm so worried about some of my friends over in Japan (and area). My prayers go out to them and everyone else who's being affected by the earthquake and aftershocks and everything else. Oh, and America can BITE ME. Honestly, some people are serious fucktards. >/

Finally figured out the DVD burning feature on Squall. Did I mention that before? Can't remember.

Anyway, so I cleared out Squall's HD some, and now I'm working on Gale. lmao only like 54 movies and 140-ish anime series. Plus a few TV series/seasons.

What can I say? I'm a media whore. xD;;

I still need to have a boo at Z's HD too, as I believe I still have some anime series on him too. I know at the very least I have the whole first season of Digimon. Hmm.

EDIT: Is anyone looking for a specific movie/anime that I could burn for you? Before I delete everything from my HDs. .__. Just ask and I'll see if I have it.

Currently watching random shows on various channels (travel shows and cultural stuff mostly, though I watched some dinosaur documentaries earlier :3) and burning DVDs from Squall to free up some of his hard drive, since I have such a bad habit of downloading video files. >.>

Once I'm done with Squall I have to move on to my external drive though, which is 380GB and COMPLETELY FULL, mostly of media files. >>;; Yeaaaaah... it's gonna take me a while. And in and around that I need to start working on the CDs for Sarah's wedding and the jewelry I'm making for the wedding party.

That's somewhat hampered by the fact that I need to get stuff from Michael's in Barrie on Friday before I can finish it, though, so maybe I can try to get the CDs done before then. Hmm.

Also, I am randomly feeling the need to name my external drive after having it for like three years already. .__. My last PC was Tempest, my netbook is Zephyr and my current laptop is Squall. All male names for some reason. So maybe I'll gall my external drive Gale. Still going with the name theme, but feminine-ish instead.

Yep, Gale it is! ♥

Gonna go to sleep once this current DVD is done burning though, since it's already 6:30am. lmao it takes so much longer to burn DVDs than it does to just burn data discs or CDs. xD;;

SQUALL HAS ARRIVED!! \o/

lmao now I need to get used to the big keyboard again. I'm so used to Z's tiny netbook keyboard that this one is really weird and awkward for me right now. But I'll adapt! Other than that one little thing, I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS COMPUTER. X3!!

More specifically, I am in love with this computer's SCREEN and PROCESSING SPEED and DVD/DISC DRIVE ASDGH;KL!! x3

Z, being a teeny tiny netbook, only had a 10" screen. Which was really alright for most things, but I watch a lot of movies and TV shows online nowadays (since I don't have cable, that's where I catch the few shows that I do follow) and trying to watch them on the mini screen was a pain and hurt my eyes after a while. Squall's screen is a massive 16", which is actually one whole inch bigger than the TV I owned for the longest time (I have a bigger one now, thank goodness lol.)

The processing speed was another thing that has to do with me using the PC for a lot of videos. Z's processing was alright, but sometimes it didn't like to load videos at a decent speed. Like, the occasional movie I would have to leave ALL NIGHT to let it load before I could actually watch it. =/

Aaaaand the disc drive! I didn't think about it when I was getting Z, but he DOESN'T HAVE ONE. *facepalm* And I never really thought about how much I use the disc drive until I didn't have one anymore. lmao, I couldn't burn media to clear off my HD, or play anything that was already on a disc, or load my Microsoft Word suite that I bloody NEEDED, DAMMIT. >__O;

But Squall has a disc drive! It burns and reads anything, including DVDs and BLU-RAY! Not that I OWN anything on Blu-ray (other than the setup disc that Squall came with, wtf?) but it still gives me glee that I could play them if I wanted to. HAH, I WIN MAINSTREAM MEDIA!!

Anyway, being able to load Microsoft Word was the big one really, since I do all my own business cards and labels; for over a year now, whenever I needed something like that, I had to go over to Mom's a usurp her PC for hours on end, which also involved using her printer/ink/paper rather than my own. Being able to do all that here will make both our lives easier. I just have to email all the files that are saved on her PC to myself next time I'm over, and then she can have her HD back. ♥

tl;dr? I'M RIDICULOUSLY HAPPY WITH MY NEW COMPUTER.

I am keeping Z for travel purposes, though. I'm going to clear out most of his HD with the exception of music and maybe a few videos and he'll be the laptop I take down to the US with me and that kind of thing. Because lovely as Squall is, he IS rather big for carrying around everywhere.

...

*pets him anyway*

I'm at Mom's right now, just to hang out and chitchat. (I also said I'd help with some chores since she has stuff she needs to get done and I happen to be here.) My brother's friends should be arriving any time now for D&D; it was his birthday yesterday and all he asked for was permission to have all his friends over for the afternoon/evening to play. He's pretty easy to please. :)

Anyway, tomorrow I'm mailing Z off to Acer to have his screen repaired and his battery switched out, so I'll not have Internet access until after he gets back. Though I think I'm going to get a new laptop anyway and keep Z for travel since he's so tiny and lightweight.

So I looked into getting a laptop from MDG and they approved me for financing, which means I would be paying for it in installments. I need to get a bank statement and whatnot to send in with the signed contract tomorrow, and then they'll ship off the new laptop.

It's one that's got a 15.5" screen, a ton of RAM, 260MB harddrive AND A CD PLAYER/BURNER/DVDPLAYER/ETC. OMGYAY!! That was the one thing I hate about Z, he doesn't have a disc drive so I can't burn anything or install programs off discs. So on the new one I can install Microsoft Works and that kind of thing.

I need to think of a good name for teh new laptop... another tempermental wind name. My PC was/is called Tempest, and then my netbook is called Zephyr, so~~

EDIT: New!laptop will be called Squall. *sage nod*
